Must be Platinum Rank to go from Gold to Platinum... where?!

Hello guys,

I'm a bit confused. So, it tells me I'm gold in the left side, the right side says I need xx wins. If I get the wins, it doesn't count, it only states "Need Platinum Rank to Advance" So... where do I get to platinum rank if not in ranked mode? lol

it's just a reminder that you need to win 10 games in Platinum rank for the platinum rewards.

The right side is just for season rewards, the left side tells you which rank you currently have.
To get promoted to a higher rank you will have to win ranked matches, the progress on the right side has absolutely nothing to do with your promotions in any playlist.

Play your preferred ranked mode until you get to platinum rank and then your wins will count for your season rewards.

I guess you mean progression towards a higher rank, not season rewards. You can use tracking sites like this one[rocketleague.tracker.network] or use mods like AlphaConsole or Bakkes Mod which will display various useful information in the game.

I checked my ratings but still have no clue what I must achieve in order to get up. More goals, more points per match or short: getting better or else I stay where I am right? Sorry for asking too much questions, I'm a dad and my great gaming-days are a bit too far in the past (except for simulations like DCS) :)

So I guess me as a defensive player will get low scores all the time and I will stay in gold.

no you only need wins. The ranked mode is based on an elo system. For every match you win you get elo for everyone you lose, well you lose elo.
The stats in the match dont influence how much elo you gain or lose.

Don't worry, it can be confusing at first.
Your rank is determined by a hidden value, called MMR. It can only be changed by winning or losing as a team, points in a game don't matter at all. The tracking sites indicated that you have a MMR of 642 and need ~6 MMR to get promoted to the next division.

Since I suck at explaining, you should propably read this[www.theloadout.com] or simply google "rocket league rank explained" or something like that ;)

Don't worry too much about your rank and rewards, just keep playing and have fun. Sooner or later you will get better and reach higher ranks. It might be a good idea to also keep practicing some mechanics and watch some guides on youtube. IIRC SunlessKhan's "Why You Suck at Rocket League" series is often suggested, maybe someone else can link some good videos.

oh look you have competitive tab you click on that than you have 1vs1 solo standard , standard , and dubles in each mode you get own rank and if you want platinum reward you need to get to platinum in one of the modes and when you get 10 wins in platinum you need to get to diamond and so on... you rank in mode is shown in center of the mode you chose.
