Lag, will a better graphic card fix this?
Hi,

I have asked on this forum why I keep lagging the first 10 seconds of the game.
They said it is because my PC couldn't handle the game
I am not able at the moment to buy a new PC, as I bought one a few years ago that was for gaming (they said)
The company build this computer from scratch so my question is, if I put a better graphic card (or something else, tell me) in my PC can this fix my problem?

If you have other tips( other then buying a new PC) I'd like to hear it.

Thanks,

Wild West

Well, lets start off by defining your "lag" because lag has nothing to do with graphics at all. lagging in an online game is network related, i assume youre talking about stuttering/low fps ?

if thats the case, try lowering your graphic settings, if that wont help at all youre most certainly forced to upgrade at some point.

if youre talking about actual lags, as of, high ping, ruberbanding car etc. a new pc most likely wont fix the problem since its not the pcs fault in most cases that youre having a poor connection to the game server youre just starting the match on

Stuttering & low fps is it, yes!

I guess youre talking about low FPS. The GPU isnt always the cause for this. Id say its more likely your drive or the cpu

Thanks, but we still need your system specs,

You have first off all, an extremly weak CPU. Clockspeed doesnt really matter to much, but the onboard GPU is far from good.

Second off all, your running a HD 7480D which is its onboard GPU. I assume you do not have a discreet linked to pair with the Onboard gpu so they work together. And even then, you wouldnt really get the performance you wanted.

I would consider upgrading to Ryzen 3 and GTX 960+. or at least an FX 4100 with 660+

A better graphics card will help you, as your processor/APU is currently rendering and processing everything. Splitting the work with a standalone GPU should immediately help - and if not - disable the integrated GPU so that only your graphics card does that work.

960 will bottleneck. Thats how bad his CPU is. He really can only fit it with a 650 TI or 7770. Also, Just because its an apu he wont see that much of an improvement. Its not SLi or crossfire.

i know, and i recommended a nvidia card with that system, however, if he has enough money to get a 960 or anything above, it can be kept when upgrading mobo, cpu ram etc.

I don't support AMD, so Im not familiar with their systems, sorry.

Uhm just to doublecheck with you guys.
I went to the store and he could make this changes:
- Change my current AMD A4-5300 Dualcore 3,4 Ghz (socket FM2) to a Quadcore 4,0 Ghz
- Change my current Asus Nvidia Geforce GT 730 to a GTX 760

If I put this changes will it bottleneck? And will my game run smooth after several new updates in the future?
It is a lot of money for me so I don't know if it's a good investment.
I hope to hear from you guys!
