Making sense of Blueprints
So, I have not traded ANYTHING since the Blueprint update. I don't understand how this is anywhere near the same as crates. Yes, you know what you're getting. That's fine. But here is where I'm very confused. I currently have a Black Toon GE BP, costs 2200 credits to build. Now I see people SELLING the blueprint for close to that amount. So If I were to buy this from someone, I would be paying around 2200 credits just to get the blueprint, and once the trade is done, i need to use another 2200 credits to build it? That's double the amount for something that is already overpriced? Is that really how this is working or am I missing something here...

That is exactly how it works. Welcome to Epic Games.

meh ppl just try the water if they can trick inpatient traders to sell them literally nothing for that much... I mean my first ingame drop after the update was a black market and I thought wow Im such a lucky man and well... not really Im keep getting exotic and painted items from left to the right so they aint worth ♥♥♥♥... the only reason why these blueprints exist is because they had to "please" those players who had around 500 crates like myself but it doesnt really pleases me because I aint gonna sell anything of these because I care more about playing the game than trading in it if Im in the actual game... The ingame store should be just a bigass list of all the existing items with the price tag on them and maybe let players get painted and certified blueprints or something. I mean if you hate trading, these blueprints are just like lootboxes, you have to get what you want first and only then you can buy it or wait for the shop to cycle to your wanted item. Its all ogre in my opinion. I don't think I spent 20 euro at all on key... yet I had multiple red drops and maybe even exotic too so I had no problem with the drop rates... not like in other games like the infamous valve ripoff games

I would boycott the game till they fix this. I have not put in more than about 3 hours since the update. I didn't buy a Fortnight game I bought RL! I can't stand greedy companies ripping people off. Epic Games, EA, and now it looks like Bethaseda might be on my next list depending on how they handle Elder Scrolls 6. Stop buying/playing games from greedy companies till they start actually caring about the player base... Not just caring about our wallets.

The people you seen selling that are just trying to rip everyone off. Some bps are worth credits and some are worth very little like 0 - 50 credits. For example a default black market item that costs 2000 to build but the item is selling for like 1000 is only worth max 50. But a TW or black version that's selling for like 3000 then the bp is worth 1000 if it's 2000 to build. So minus the cost of building it.

No, you get a piece of what you could have if you pay real money and have all the parts.
I hate loot/crates but this is worse.

Price is defined by psychology : how much for max profits ?

The problem is that some people are weak and have addiction so they spend too much just because of marketing.
That's why Fortnite is scary : kids are pushed to addiction to make their parents pay.
Scam is for adults :)
No this isn't any different. You're still using the in-game currency to build the blueprints. And what parts? Once you have the blueprint all you have to do is build it.

Look at it from a different perspective.
With our old crate-system, you had to open god knows how many cases to MAYBE get a black market item, and when you did it usually wasn't even the one you were hoping for. You would spend tons of money and ended up not even getting what you wanted.

This escalated to children burning tons of money on randomized crates, and then another batch of money because they didn't get what they wanted.

Psyonix needed to change something to be able to work within each country's gambling laws and they came up with a system that does this very well.
Yes, things might have changed in the trading world a bit, but as with any other change you'll just have to deal with it.

It's still better than the alternative which is that Psyonix will get sued by multiple countries for god knows how much money.

The kid who opened 20 crates and still not get the item he wanted, still got 20 items in the end and probably multiple good ones. And if it was a lucky kid, he got 19 items he didn't want and the item he wanted.

Now I have to pay as much as for those 20 crates to get the one specific item I want, but I will ONLY have THAT one, nothing more.

It's a complete ripoff. Yes, now it's not a gamble anymore, but on the other hand it's a cashcow. It's like someone asking you "What would you like to have: AIDS or Cancer". I wouldn't want any of these diseases and I don't like gambling or cashcows either. Why not just go for FAIR prices once?
Ex Azaleane Dec 22, 2019 @ 2:52pm
If you don't like it, don't craft your blueprints? I don't see what the big problem is...
To use your analogy: What would you rather have: aids, cancer or nothing?
Aids being opening crates
Cancer being the new blueprint system
and nothing being you stopping to complain and cry about how ♥♥♥♥ everything is and just dont buy/spend credits to begin with.

Psyonix can't make everyone happy, and if they have to choose between having a few players crying about a change in the item system or getting sued for hundred thousands of dollars by multiple countries, I'm sure they rather deal with some crybaby players. And to be fair, I can't blame them, they did the right thing and I don't mind spending a few credits to get the items that I like, knowing that the profits go to the developers who gave me this enjoyable game.
Shadow4869 Dec 22, 2019 @ 3:01pm
or since we bought the game just have the Rocket pass and nothing else. all items being earn in game or trade for or earned in rocket pass. that's what is truly fair. not an item shop for a game we paid for.

No matter how Epic wants to spin this they know it's a cash grab and it's a ripoff.
Ex Azaleane Dec 22, 2019 @ 4:12pm
Having an item shop is perfectly fine. You're not forced to use it. It gives people the option to just buy the items they like when they appear in the item shop, this isn't a bad thing in any way.

You see people asking for that price (because they are completely clueless) but do you see people actually paying that price?

Most blueprints are worthless.

Stuff is just too expensive now.

You cant be serious. Everybody probably can afford to buy items for a few EUR but that doesnt mean ppl are willing to give away money for completely overwpriced worthless virtual items.

As i said before:
It is bizarre to watch what seems to have become normal to people. I really do hope that politics will pick up this topic soon - especially since many games target a rather young audience.

It is beyond bizarre what some people in this thread argue.
Do you NEED cosmetics in order to play the game? Does Psyonix force you, in ANY way to buy items from the item shop? No.

The only problem here is your greed for cosmetics. You can't blame Psyonix for that.

No you are wrong ... what about the greed by Psyonix? 100% greed let's charge a fortune to build these blueprints you get for free. Hope every little people are building blueprints. You pay more to build 1 blueprint than the whole game. It's a joke.
