DS4 not working with Rocket League

I've had this problem for a few days, tried everything I've seen online and done a fresh install of Windows but to no avail.

When the DS4 did work using bluetooth the light would remain white, however since the latest steam update it turns a solid blue. This results in the game not detecting my DS4 at all. However, if the controller is plugged in it works as expected.

I'm hoping to use the DS4 with native support like I have done for the past year as other workarounds (InputMapper and Steam controller support) introduce input lag to a point where some presses aren't registered at all. Furthermore, RL has native DS4 support, why not use it?

I am admittedly running on questionable hardware (Macbook Pro 12, 13 inch) but I've done so just fine until a few days ago.
This is pretty much the only game I play so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm having the same issue but I'm running on a regular PC so your hardware is not the problem. I tried reconfigurating the controller but it didn't work... Let me know if anyone finds a fix for this please!

If you're using a PS4 controller you don't need DS4. Rocket League is the only game I've ever owned that actually had REAL controller support. I just plug it in and play.

Which is probably the only thing I like about Rocket League.

uninstall ds4 and just use the native support that rocket league provides

By DS4 we mean't DualShock4 (the controller). I don't have any extra software... I plug and play but it only works while the cable is plugged in. Bluetooth does not work anymore.

That's why because it's Bluetooth. You need to remember that you're using Sony controller. You'll need a program to pair it. Otherwise, just use the cable.

I've never figured out how to use it without bluetooth though. I actually didn't even know you could play with a DS4 controller wireless.

Well it used to work with bluetooth, no extra program... Pretty sure steam broke it updating the controller support in settings... i had to resync my 2 xbox one controllers after a recent update and ive used ps4 controllers just fine before...

but when its broken Pinnacle seems to work til they fix it... or ds4windows but yea it should work on bluetooth through steam no issue

I swear no one is reading my post before they respond.

I don't want to use any alternative software or drivers, not even from Steam. I want the simple plug and play functionality that the DS4 (Duelshock 4, not the software DS4Windows, the actual controller) already had. This was working, until a few days ago, hense why I made this post. Using anything else results in noticable lag and even fails to register some button presses

I can't use alternative software or drivers because they introduce too much lag, which I blame my CrapBook for. But judging by what you're saying we'll just have to wait until Steam stops shoving useless funcationallity into its client and releases a fix? That's a damn shame, considering how slow Steam is to do anything

This exact reason made me buy wired :) wired, never fails.

Sorry it stopped working, I have a PS4 controller that just won't let me use touchpad, but it's perfect in every other way. AMen. It's also faster than logitech F710 NACON :D

You can use bluetooth with a PS4 controller, it's just tricky to Sync it with PC because during the Sync process the controller trys to turn itself off. You've gotta be on your toes while syncing up and keep pushing the power on button on the controller so it can't stay off long enough for the PC to fail to connect.

I'm not makin this up, I've experienced this problem and I've gotten past it and played with Bluetooth connection for hours successfully on many occasions. This on Windows 7 though.
