they all have the Octane Hitbox so... see them as an octane
takumi is the tokyodrift octane
twinzer is the dune buggy octane :D
i'm not too terrible with the twinzer now, but the takumi is completely ruined for me :(
doesn't seem like i really have a choice at this point... super weirrd
thx for the comments but i'm sure there has to be more to it than that...
What a load of bullcrap. Thats nonsense bud. Just keep with the car you enjoy for as long as you enjoy it. Not to mention that Takumi has Octane hitbox anyways since the standarisation of those, so the supposed claims that you NEED to swap are bogus.
Personally I'm an Octane main like 98% of the current community, but I used to be Ripper main due to it's looks, then watched a lot of YT and became Breakout main due to certain guy using it. And then I stumbled upon Gibbs vids and fell in love with how Octane looks and then eventually with how it plays. You just gotta keep it true to yourself and swap only if you actually want to.
That being said dont be afraid to try out different cars randomly as well if you feel like lil change is needed. I too sometimes swap to likes of Batmobile, Imperator, Endo etc and play well and comfortably with those but eventually I always end up back with Octane.
the other thing i noticed is that my bumper-mapped R/L air rolls are much less efficient with the twinzer in terms of reposititioning and always "landing on all fours"... i'm guessing because of suspension? like obviously i'm going to be biased here towards my takumi, but not only can i feel a huge difference in their respective suspensions but you can literally even see it with the naked eye.
skill in this game is just so nuanced and complicated.... was kind of hoping someone out there might have had elite-lvl direct experience with both cars.
like one issue i just thought of might be that my camera settings are now goofed up after having switched back-and-forth between these two cars so many times.
like it'd at least be reasonable to assume SOME variance in camera optimization between two such different cars, right? (hitboxes not withstanding)
like, from my own personal experience, angle and distance seem to push and pull between ground game and air game.
...do i at least understand that correctly??
Just swap height from 100 to 110. Fairy uses those on Batmobile but on Octane has 110. At least that what I've heard from JohnnyBoi_i so if it's bs then blame him.
Anyways those are the standard go-to pro player settings.
Idealy tho you'd want to watch pro players play and look for someone whose cam settings you like and which feel intuitive for you. That being said most pros use settings that are close or exactly the same as FeiryPeaks.
Also considering the two cars have same hitbox they dont really require change of cam setings unlike for example Octane to batmobile hitbox, which are vastly different.
Also #2 you should ditch the bumper airrolls and just put boost and airroll/powerslide on bumpers instead. Unless you're able to press jump and boost at the same time with your current set up, then you can freely disregard this.
Just so you know this is coming from someone who used to play with air roll bumpers as well.
Anyways like I said earlier, dont feel like you need to swap cars coz others say you do. As long as you're comfortable with Takumi, you should keep using it. You're only Diamond so you dont need air dribbles or ceiling shots in your life regardless. Just focus on the basics and high percantage plays if you want to rank up and become better.
