Skill Difference - Ranked.

Hello ladies and gentlemen of the rocket league community,

I have a major question, how do I rank up in 2's, when my teammates don't even take the shots when I pass it a gazillion times right in front of the goal to them or when they do ball chase and screw up, don't just rotate to compensate and cover the goal.

A little backstory, I "only" have a 130-140'ish hours and I don't consider myself a "pro player" at all, but what I don't get is why my teammates which I get in solo ranked don't have the same level of understanding the game considering we are in fact the same rank, I am currently G2 in 2's (P3 in 3's) and try my utterly best by somewhat playing defensive when my teammate chases the ball and try to teamwork when he passes a quality shot and rotate (yes, I understand the concept of rotation, why don't the others?).

the only problem? he doesn't do the same in return and since I am not a "pro player", I am not able to get back to goal 100% of the time whilst my teammate could of have done it from their position.

I do not need the "You need to be better then all players" crap, because afterall, it is a teamgame and I communicate with quick chat as much as I can (sometimes, they don't listen at all?), since microphones have the quality of a screeching cat in this game.

Is it just something I have to live with? I do play with friends very often, but the times I do not I attempt solo and it is just so demotivating to not have players who understand certain concepts when they are above silver.

Rocket league it's worse every new seasson starting from the "soft reset" update, don't expect rank up with randoms, just rage and rage, if you can't play with friends because you work/ study / etc... skip ranked games, you will find better and smarter people in unranked.

anyway the seasson rewards are always garbage.

You carry the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ out of your teammate. I learned this the hard way. If my teammate whiffs more than 40% of his shots, I stop trusting him and let him do his thing, while I hold a defensive position. Of course, only do this in solo queue.

If your teammate isn't looking for passes then stop passing to them. If they aren't trying to hit you on passes stop presenting yourself for them. If they aren't rotating well play more passive and fake more challenges instead of actually challenging. Etc.

If you have more game sense than your teammate it's on you to make adjustments to them because they aren't going to adjust to you, at least not at that level.

Or, and I know you don't want to hear it but.... Get better. You have less than 200h, I guarantee your teammates aren't the reason you're losing at gold level because the players you're against are just as bad as your teammates.
When I started playing 2's(which I only play solo) I didn't even take a loss until I got to around mid plat and I barely ever played the mode before. The difference is I had way more than 200h so not sure what you're expecting with so little play time.

I actually played with "SWISS PATRIOT" (as seen in the top of the reply on this post) and while he is diamond 2 and I am gold 2, I still play up to pair with him and we won couple of games.

Just remember that if you're blaming your teammates for not taking advantage of opportunities that you're "dishing up" then 1 of 2 things is happening:

1. You're not setting them up correctly

2. They aren't expecting the setup to begin with

Skill level does not factor largely into this stuff; Diamond is not that much better than most G-P ranks in "mechanics", what Diamond players do better is decide quickly and keep their eyes up, even rotations and passing plays need big time work up until GC. Also, if you're unable to carry in the rank you're currently in on a fairly consistent basis, you likely belong where you are. So work on rotating and playing proper defense, those 2 things can carry you a long way up.

Ya plat isn't really an exception either, but it's defiantely an improvement from gold. Gold is literal cancer. Can't break it no matter how hard you try unless you pair up with someone who can rotate.

i found better players in gold than diamond 3 rank.

and i said better, better in all aspects, aerials , smart play, wall play etc.......


however gold it0s very low, i can even carry there, and i'm a teamwork player that can't carry, but can play in champ ranks with another mate than know what he is doing

To everyone who says Silver 1 to Plat is the same, you're wrong, the difference between silver and gold is decision making and the difference between gold/plat is the speed of the decision making + less whiffing.
