Optimal Controller Setup
Hey all, just thought I'd share the setup I've put a few hundred hours into to tweak to maximize control and fluidity of movement and minimize reaction time. It'd be interesting to see someone else try it out. For the most part, you never need to move your fingers off a joystick or button.

(Note: Some things were changed in the ini file to allow things like double binding.)

Left stick-> Normal, except pitch up and down are double bound for 2x input.
L1-Jump
L2-Reverse
R1-Boost
R2-Gas
Right stick-> Air roll right and left as well as pitch up and down (single bound, so if I pitch down on right stick, up on left, I'll pitch up.) And through steam controller config, I set the outer ring to powerslide, so I don't have to press a button to slide, just move the stick to the edge
A-Ball Cam toggle
X-Look left
B-Look right
(There are unused inputs, Y, and both stick presses, could probably utilize those for rearview)

Then, in the steam controller config, I tweaked the deadzones to be square. (Plus some other changes to make things feel smoother, like more relaxed custom response curves.)

Anyone care to give it a try? It makes fine tuned movement that would otherwise be impossible fairly easy! Plus, anyone still using air roll on one stick is missing out on the beautiful world of shoulder checks from turning one way and flipping another. GREAT for 50/50s, stuffs, wall pinches, you name it.)

Hey, 2 years later I am wondering how you made the deadzone and all.
And with steam controler config, you also added 1 ms input lag minimum. It's a really weird config. I would just do everything bad with this..

I didn't see this response, sorry! When you ask about making the deadzone, do you mean my specific deadzone settings or how to modify them in the steam controller config? :D
