Can somebody explain to me why RocketLeague has one of if not the most toxic playerbase on steam?
Honestly I can't say anything anymore without somebody calling me some rude name. Discussions or in game, somebody is always being toxic. Can somebody explain to me why this is the case?

fast-paced, highly competitive game with a lot of different kind of persons

it's just as expected
I play rainbow six and csgo, and some racing games. All fast paced and very competitive and I meet a lot of different people, but for some reason they aren't as toxic as the rocketleague playerbase. I understand that people will be like this in any game but it seems that it is most prominent in rocketleague.
CS:GO has the most toxic playerbase.

Just like real sports, it's a competitive game.

Trust me, I have made my rounds in cs. You meet a fair amount of toxic players, but they are more funny than annoying. It might be because you are able to talk to them, but it doesn't make me want to not play another game. I understand that it is a competitive game but it is just hard and sad to believe that that there are this many toxic people in this game.

Normally, when I see one of these threads, I say something along the lines of "Rocket League doesn't have anywhere near the most toxic player base on Steam", but----

Bah, what the hell. I'll go with that.

There is an addenum, though. Keep in mind, this is strictly theoretical.

Rocket League is rated E. Dunno what CS:GO's rating is--couldn't find a rating in the Steam Store--but presumably it's a lot higher than E because you actually shoot people and blow stuff up. So, in theory, Rocket League could have a lot of younger players in its player base.

In theory.

In practice, God only knows how many 12-year-old kids manage to get their hands on CS:GO by whatever means. The age distribution of the player bases may be identical.

So there's the "theoretical" for ya.

I'm intrigued to what you think the most toxic game is.

World of Warcraft. CS:GO comes in a close second. :)

He mentioned it twice.
He didn't mention it twice. CS:GO was brought up, but he never specifically stated what he thought the most toxic game is. Also it was World of Warcraft, but to be fair he did say cs was a close second.

Generally, players won't be toxic to you if you don't make horrible moves. CSGO, on the other hand, will vote kick you if you buy an auto sniper.
I think It is because of a couple of things, just my theories :P

- It's a team game but most people are playing solo so they think they deserve better teammates. It's all because they are not "connecting" with them. It's frustrating to have a clear shot with a high pourcentage of making a goal, but your teammate rams you on the side and give the ball to them (just an exemple).

- There is a known bug called "heavy car" or "input lag" that is discussed on Psyonix forums with 118 pages on the thread, nobody knows how to fix it or send good proofs to the devs. Players having this bug are trying hard, very hard, to just stay on a rank they don't deserve, it can make you the most toxic of them all: {リンクが削除されました} Just imagine having 1 second delay on everything, it's impossible to compete properly. Probably alot of players have this bug and don't even know it (probably why some diamonds 3 or even champs are whiffing the ball on easy shots, 1 second is huge in these ranks). It may be caused by Double NAT (CGNAT) from your ISP.

- People don't have any consequences from what they say online (it's been known since Internet came out!)

- It can be a very competitive game and in every sports you have players being toxic or even fighting (hockey) each other over not important things, just because man have always been like that.

All this, mixed together, is chaos.

Have you ever been outside before?
I haven't played CSGO or WoW but I can say that L4D2's playerbase is way more toxic than RL. So much so that the game is unplayable unless you're playing with at least 3 people so that players aren't constantly vote-kicking others, or 7 because it's not any more fun watching it happen to the other team, either.
You don't have many hours in rl or csgo.
Csgo has a much worse player base. Rl really isn't that bad.

Add to that, wow is/was one of the most toxic. (not sure about recent Times but in the past)
Dota and LOL are both right up there.

I had a very old account where I had about 2k hours on source. I have had a lot of time getting to know the cs community.

What do you mean by this question? Are you trying to say that everybody does the same thing in the real world? If you are then I feel bad for you, and the type of people you talk to. The people in rocketleague are straight up rude to you for no reason, and for 5 minutes you are stuck with them. In the real world which you obviously don't have much experience with, it is very easy to just walk away. Yes, I could do that in rocketleague but I'd rather play the game with an annoying teamate than getting a ban.
The whiniest, that's for sure.
