Triplex wheels look weird in-game.
Not weird as in their design, but weird as in their appearance in-game. They look like they're on "low" graphics settings. The texture is kind of blurry, the colored parts seem to be missing bloom and only have a bright solid color with no texture, and they overall just look kind of bad. What do you guys think?

Spectre is the same way. The normal part of the decal looks insanely low res.
low anisotropic values will make textures look bad at a certain distance, the lower the value, the worse textures will look at a closer distance.

in this game due to different effects being used on different items, doesn’t mean that anisotropic distance will be global for all items. for example, wheels might be a bit more distant but within the anisotropic value when closer decals that should be not affected, are. the other way around can also happen and this could be your problem.

i’ve had decals affected by this when certain wheels weren’t.

the thing doughnutsu is talking is different, universal decals have a set resolution that should fit all models equally, but on certain car (usually larger) models the texture resolution gets blown up beyond the set max resolution and makes the decals look worse, perfect example of this is the hexed bm decal, looks decent on smaller models but when you use bigger ones, it starts to get blown up and shows pixelated.

long rant aside, this could your anisotropic filter value settings, the best way to get around this is to change it directly on the *.ini file, if this is something you don’t know how to manage, you can try changing it on your graphics card control panel. bare in mind that higher values will take a bigger toll on the performance.

I play on max settings. Would I need to increase the value even further?

They just look flat, and I only play at 1080p so the top image isn't really that sharp, but you can see how the texture looks muddy, mushy, and strange next to anything else in the game. Rocket League has some very sharp textures and well-made models, so this just looks weird next to everything else in the game I've seen except Cauldron and those ghost wheels from Haunted Hallows which seem to have a similar underwhelming look graphically (design aside).

that's not the issue i was talking of, they seem normal i guess. if you are talking in comparison to how they look in the crate showcase, that would be normal, the lightning there is deliberately different so things look better.
try testing it in the farm map, the lightning there can make a somewhat similar effect to the crate showcase to see if that's the problem
