edit: im probaply the guy not allowed to play in 3's actually :D
It also doesn't help when you encounter groups that consist of a Diamond and a Gold........it makes the system more broken.
im playing solo standard so i dont encounter people in crazy diffrent ranks cuz people cant team.
Well, that is alot harder......i mean FAR harder than non-solo modes.....i have seen Gold ranked players playing so much better than their rank would expect, its not their fault, its the solo nature of the mode.....you will see players that would normally be high Diamond, but they are High Gold due to not being able to play with their normal friend or friends.
Close in rank....yeah, close in skill? not so much.
The rank to skill ratio in this game is utterly broken, the skill level of the players are utterly unpredictable and not in a good way.
What would be a good way is when you don't know who is going to win, you or them, but when you have no idea you are going to get team mates that are as skilled as their rank would indicate or that they outright suck or are VASTLY better than their rank would indicate........it doesn't matter if the advantage is on my team or the other team, its still bad and needs to be managed.
It can be highly random in all modes, but it is more commonly random in solo 3s.....its due to how broken the skill to rank ratio is of the players.
Yup. If they added a metric that tracked points scored or the point differential between the players in each match I think it would mitigate this problem at least a little bit. It probably would not be that hard to do AND it could catch people boosting other players and ban them or just strip their rank so they have to do placements again
This XD
Or double partners that don't know how to play with a third person and trash talk a lot.
Unfortunately there is not much we can do as players who have actually put in the time to get better other than just accepting it and using it as a learning experience and presenting possible solutions on the forums. I just wish there was a way to manually report boosted/boosting players other than just the "cheating" option. I also wish the system could automatically flag a streak of huge point differentials from partied players.
Edit: OOF. just repeated myself. Haven't had my morning coffee yet
