Nah it was a big mistake to remove the diversity of different levels.
The game is a lot less fun now. Just because some people couldn't handle Neo Tokyo
I'm a new player to RL, only started playing in 2019 even though I've owned the game since 2018, I believe.
Regardless, I truly enjoy the consistency of the goal position and shape of the levels in comp. matches and casual; I do appreciate that they add some of the old levels in casual from time to time.
Yes, I could adapt, but I just don't like those levels for comp. play; that's just my opinion.
As well, you can still play those levels and some game-modes in private match; I was just sharing that. Acknowledgingly, it's not the same if they were added into rotation to what we have now.
I wouldn't mind if they added any of the unique levels or/and game-modes into separate playlists for players to play.
Anyways, I hope I cleared some things up from what I said previously; I didn't mean any harm, much love, take care, my dude.
I'm sure if all player were forced to play those levels, they'd eventually get good at them; as well, I'm pretty sure grand champs, professional players and anyone who's fairly good at the game would not have too much of an issue adapting to read and utilise the ball bounces, in-game.
To clarify, it's not a matter of not being good at the game et cetera, I just simply do not want to play those levels in regular competitive and regular casual; though, it's not too big of a deal in causal for me, but, casual is a nice place to practice PvP matches in the same levels and game-modes that comp. have so you can eventually try competitive once you feel confident enough.
I don't know where you're getting the notion that I'm saying or hinting something along the lines of, 'i just want to get really good at one map because i'm too bad at the game to read ball bounces on other shaped maps'.
I did say, roughly, I would not mind if they added the unique game-modes and/or levels into their own public playlists for players to play/enjoy.
Much love, brother, take care:))black_heartx2*..
They initially started adding in new maps, one per update, into map rotation. It was okay for a bit, but there were a lot of people complaining. Psyonix added the "arena settings" as a response, where you could upvote and downvote stadiums to make them appear more or less frequently. Most people just voted down all the non-standard maps, so that was a pretty major data point.
They ended up putting all of the non-standard arenas into a new 3v3 playlist called Rocket Labs, which was nothing but non-standard. If you wanted to play on the wacky new maps, that was the mode you'd go to. Otherwise, standard 3v3 and everything else was all the same standard arenas.
But it didn't take long until that mode was virtually dead. By the end, there'd maybe be a couple hundred in-game while the other playlists would get thousands or tens of thousands. I don't think that mode lasted more than a couple months before it was dead and later removed.
Now, we're left with a mostly useless arena settings menu, where you can just vote for different variations of the same basic map. It's pretty meaningless now.
So yeah. Long story short, the community does not like anything other than the basic rectangle map. It isn't a group of "elite gamers" and it isn't "to sell more keys" or anything weird like that. The community showed that they did not like these maps and Psyonix listened.
Simple as that.
Bring back Spike Rush!!!
