Why does Squishy's gameplay look so smooth and colorful?
I use the exact same settings like him, and my gameplay looks like a complete shi.tshow lol

your gameplay or your graphics? youre describing one thing, and mentioning a different one :D

i mean the graphics, the gameplay is on a whole different level lol

okay thats what i thought when you described smooth and colorfull.

so multiple options:
smooth -> depends on your frames and the graphic settings, also on your hardware maybe, do you own a 144hz monitor?

colorfull, there are multiple options depending on your hardware aswell, nvidia lets you use and tweak filters for certain games, for example i can turn my entire monitor or second monitor to black and white, or to a full color popping bright mess.

to do that if youre on nvidia gpu's. do right click on your desktop and choose nvidia system settings. look for screen settings -> desktop colour settings. over there you can tweak the brightness, contrast and gamma.

dont overdo it though since it can make not only rocket league look better, but anything else worse aswell for example. try it out and tweak to your own liking

144hz schouldnt be the problem, youtube cant show 144hz, right?

nope, but it makes your own game look smoother. alot of people never realized after getting a 144hz monitor to enable it and played on 60hz with them for ages before realizing.

whats your average frames?

75-90 on 1080p everything low, except render quality

with a 60hz monitor

that could be one reason. for example i dont have everything to low, but i also have an average of 450 frames, allthough i cant see more than 60hz due to my old monitor, it still feels alot smoother

So, I have solved the problem... I turned on V-Sync and its very smooth!
BUT!
The game feels.. weird. The turning radius is off point

I guess RL is one of those games, like Skyrim, that links FPS to physics.

yes, input lag

its not, vsync is known to delay your inputs. hence why its a must to turn it off in every competetive game that needs quick reaction times if you take it a little serious

If you're running at 60 Hz but it doesn't look smooth; what framerate is your GPU producing? If it's too close to 60 Hz, or not even 60 Hz, then the horizontal displacement of a frame tear is very large. V-Sync gets rid of tearing, at the expense of input lag.

One reason Squishy's gameplay is very smooth, even though his stream and most videos show 60 Hz at max, is that you can bet your ass his GPU produces 250 fps. Which means a 60 Hz render over that framerate means 4.16 tears per screen, on average, which have greatly lesser horizontal displacement, which is generally perceived as less choppy.
