Heavy car bug! I can now create you and remove you in game!!
Heavy car, slow car bug (not fixed but on to something)
Ok so hear me out... I have well over 4k hours in RL. I can assure everyone here the heavy car bug is a real thing. So is the car on ice, so is the dodge slow air roll slow. They are all real. Truth is, I never know what game im going to get when i launch RL. And quit honestly, it doesn't really matter because the game changes on me in a blink of an eye while playing.

Today while playing RL, my car was moving alright. Not great but alright. My hits were weak and kinda sloppy but at least my car was moving alright. Then, out of no where, the Heavy Car bug took over. My car was slow, air roll took about a week to complete and no matter how far I moved the stick to the left or the right, my car just lethargically made the turn only to watch the ball roll on past me. Frustrated as always, I reverted back to the good ole days of pure button smashing. Hitting buttons without a care in the world since it didn't really matter what I did, my car was moving too slow to make a difference anyhow.

THEN... Almost like some sort of David Copperfield magic, the Heavy car bug seemed to go away. I was in free play at this time. So now that brings up the question(s). How did I get the heavy car bug while in game and how did I remove the Heavy car bug while also in game?

In short answer, I don't know. I tried over and over to replicate any and all button smashing I could think of.

WHAT I BELIEVE I FOUND.
Although I can't quit yet be 100% sure of this I believe I was able to not only recreate the heavy car bug and remove it by pressing the right trigger in and out while (Doing something else). I'm not sure what the something else is though and that's where I need help. I was half pushing the trigger, releasing it pushing it all the way in, things like that while also doing some boost, some jumps, some of pretty much everything really. But I cant help but feel, the right trigger is the somehow the magical button that not only helps create this bug but also removes the bug.

I will continue to test some things out. We will prove once and for all, that this is not only real but that it can be created if one desires and removed if one is being plagued by it!

UPDATE

I have now been able to create, remove, recreate and re-remove the Heavy car bug in game. I have also been able to create the wonky in game camera. That feeling when it just seems your camera is off. I was also able to remove the wonky camera. Reality is... I have been able to create about 8 types of game play in game. All in the same game. It's really odd.

I'm not sure why everyone doesnt seem to have the same issues some have in RL. But I'm really hoping some one in the game dev or coding can look into this for me. The way I have been able to completely change my game (while in a match and free play), Is buy holding right trigger just slightly in about 1/4 of the way and then feather boost a bit. That simple. It creates the Heavy bug, also removes the heavy bug, creates wonky camera, removes wonky camera. It creates a completely different game for me every time I do that. If I hold right trigger all the way in and boost nothing changes. It's when right trigger is pressed slightly in and tapping boost that creates and fixes the issue. Once this issues are there, they only way I have found to remove them is by doing the same in game button combination. game restart doesn't work. Game restart seems to keep what ever state the game was in prior to game exit. I believe this is answer we have all been looking for. Question is, is it a game bug, a controller bug, a Windows bug. I don't really know. But I am 1000% certain I can change my game mid game.

So been testing this all day, here are the things I kinda think and notice.

The game seems to adjust when I hit the key combinations as described above and move in and out of super sonic speed.

It's all kinda random.

Once something is locked in(say heavy car, or sloppy car, whatever) it stays locked in even after game reset.

Hitting the key combination again removes the current state of the game and gives me some other state of the game.

Not sure on this one but a few times while testing this I experienced massive frame drops. Been kinda having this issue anyhow since the last update so not sure if this plays into what im finding.

The in game camera seems to slow down to what I would call a normal speed. I've always kinda thought my in game camera seemed really fast at times and also acted really odd a lot.

Here is a big one. After 4k hours I found it really odd that I still could not get the ball to stick to my car. I've always blamed that on a game issue. Now as I continue to hit the key combination in game, the ball sticks to my car like glue.

The ball no longer bounces off my car in crazy random fashion when I get the game in what I would call a normal state.

When hitting the ball with my car(no dodge) my car no longer flings it's self off in crazy directions. The car feels solid and continues the same path it was on prior to hitting the ball. Again only when I can get it into the correct state with the key combination.

THE MAJOR DOWNSIDE

Since what I believe and have tested and tested and continue to get the same results, being that the key combinations of slightly pressing right trigger while boosting a few times and possibly entering and exiting super sonic speed is part of normal game play, I can't keep it where It feels, looks, responds, and just seems right for long without mistakenly hitting that combination again.

I'm still currently waiting on Psyonix to respond to my ticket in hopes they can help!

im not very familiar with HCB but all I can say is that using 3rd party controller software I have never experienced this with my ps4 controller. However, if I try to play the game with steam controller support, everything does in fact feel very slow and dashing is almost slow-mo to how I usually play.
Yeah, i don't use the steam support at all. I have tried it in the past a few times but now I have unchecked everything and forced if off in steam settings. I can continue to say that I have been playing on and off all day and everything I stated above continues to be the case for me. I am having frame rate issues today like I was when the last update came out. For the last 2 or 3 weeks the frame rates issue kinda went away. IDK really, makes be believe it also has something to do with the key combinations im pressing! Still haven't heard anything back for Psyonix but honestly since Epic bought them idk if I will or not. I'll give it some time and try to reach out to them again. But I'm still able to change my game at any point. Just never really know what i'm going to change it to!.. It's beyond crazy to me.

I also use steam config to correct the curve of triggers, all is good by my side :/

Your CPU is somewhat throttled with this patch, could be A reason for your issues. Search for "Intel Zombieload" if you want to know why.
Setting the Windows Power options to high performance might help with this but since you're on a laptop, doing this without the laptop connected to the power cable will drain its battery quickly.

Since you're using Nvidia, I'd strongly advise you to enable Tile-Based Rendering that is not active by default in the game and will make the game considerably more consistent in performance.
Have the game closed, go to Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Config, open the TASystemSettings.ini and find the line "BinnerTileCache". Set it to True and change the "BinnerTileResX" and "BinnerTileResY" to 128 (assuming you're using 1920x1080 resolution), save the file and close it.
There is also another line you can change in TASystemSettings.ini that will make the game more responsive on inputs. "OneFrameThreadLag" set to False.

Another thing that is worth testing in the game options, is the Input Buffering.

I've tested all 3 and what suits me best is STS, it's worth to check it out.

Thank you Hoss of Pain, I will try all of the above mentioned. I appreciate the knowledgeable information as that is by far the most help I have ever received in helping me overcome my RL game play issues!

Hey Vloxtun, I'm also a HCB sufferer.
May I know what you mean by 'Right Trigger' here? Is it the 'gas' button? What controller are you referring to? I am using Playstation DualShock 4. If you're not referring to this controller, is there any 'Right Trigger' in this controller? If not, are there any alternatives? Thanks!!!

There's no such thing.

I was playing 1 v 1 today and man, it was impossible to play consistent, as many state, Octane feels like a tractor, i have 2000 hours and i've been a victim for 3 years. everytime i get this i have a 80% of chances to lose, so i won't take this game serious anymore.

Then you took a break and it went away.
Messaggio originale di Giliador:
Do people get HCB on keyboard and mouse? If you only get heavy car on half trigger, it would not be possible to get it on keyboard.
Yes definitely, just keyboard here.
Heavy car bug is a reflect of your poor config. Move on.

That makes no sense, it's the exact same game across all accounts.

I got it in the past. I changed my isp. Tadaaaa magic happened.
if you play with controller and USB cable, make sure USB is plugged into the mainboard at the back of the computer. I tried this after googling HCB and learned the front USB panel does not provide enough power for a controller (especially PS4). As soon as I did this my car lost a few pounds
