When they started adding dlc cars, people f figured out that majority was a recycled style of the default cars with some random tweaks.
Bit of knowledge, the OCtane is most popular used because it is the balanced car for hitbox, power, aerials, and speed.
All cars are the same for speed, aerials and power.
Or is it a coincidence that one car can drift or turn faster that the other?
Google it and you'll see that every default car is tweaked to be slightly different than the other.
In rank, I have a main vehicle. When I go casual, I play with all my other cars. Feeling the difference is felt by a lot of people. Though it might not be a huge difference , it's just enough to throw the players comfortness of the vehicle.
Only difference is hitbox, that's it.
Do you not understand that because of the the difference in hitboxes is what determines the physics of how the vehicle interacts with the environment and the walls?
Truck and Van, bigger hitbox making them stronger. More area to hit and blow up others. The wider area also means hitting ta ball straight on isn't as strong or fast. Turn speed is a little slower.
Dominus is flatter all the way to the front, so they can hit the ball like a punching it. Being so flat, dribbling is easier with these types. The long hitboxes causes turns to overshoot.
Octane hitboxes is inbetween all of them
What you see as the model, is not what the hitbox is. The cars have been grouped into categories.
This is all common knowledge and is easily found.
I know the hitbox isn't the body of the car. I described it all in a literal cube shape.
You say "common Knowledge and is easily found" like you just go through and read somebody only responding that but no other details on why the hitboxes are different. A game of physics where hit.
I asked you to really search for it and look indepth of what causes the difference. When RL announced their first tournament. My friends and I tried entering it. During that time I did a lot of studying and learning. Even testing differences myself.
But here's some deeper analysis

YOU were the one that stated they were different. I know those videos already. Take a look at the date of the videos. The hitboxes have been normalised a long time after those videos.
Look at Rocket Science's later videos. Again, the cars have been grouped into 5 different types

The most recent list we have.
But that's not what we're talking about. You said the cars have different speeds and stats for hits and aerials, and I told you that you were incorrect.
