Flip cancel not working? Help!

I can flip cancel only when I front flip. (Yes I know you have to basically do the reverse of what you just did to cancel after the flip) I try it like if I was going to say half flip and it does not work. So I tried backflipping and canceling and still it is broken. Do you know why it does not work backwards?

The graph on the right represents the controller tracking your thumb movement. Though I don't think it's demonstrated in this video, Degradation of the analog stick could lead to a different reading on the upward axis and downward axis even with "equal inputs". In other words, you do the same thing forwards and backwards but the controller is reading your upward thumb movement as not going all the way to the outer ring , or not as fast.

This issue is similar to drift.

You may be able to use STEAMs software to bring the outer ring inward, or increase the stick sensitivity to overcome the issue. If that doesn't work then I think you are out of luck.

I'm hard on my controllers and I've dealt with this issue so many times now that I've bought replacement sticks on ebay ( super cheap like $5 for a 10 pack. The exact same ones for xboxone or PS4 controller ) and I spent like $200 on a good soldering station & supplies and began replacing my sticks when they start to fail lol. My current controller is an xboxelite series 1 controller and it suffered the same issue, so you can probably understand my decision to buy the soldering station rather than another elite controller. I had a cheaper soldering station that I used on my xboxone regular controllers but it wasn't very good and would cook the PCB board after a couple stick replacements.

The first elite analog stick began to fail about 6 months in, but the replacement is going strong for a year or so now.

Yeah. I bought a new controller because I asked around and for some reason PS4 controllers have been doing this. I play with a PS5 controller now.

Anyways yeah. You need a new controller. No other fix was possible. Trust me.
