You don't need to change graphics settings, your computer can handle the game just fine.
What's the framerate you play at? What's the type of connection you have for your monitor?
You should be playing at 120hz/fps but that doesn't work with HDMI, you need to use the Displayport connection. On the actual monitor options, go to Picture and select Instant Mode.

Go to Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Config and open TASystemSettings.ini with Notepad. Find the line: OneFrameThreadLag=True and change it to False, save and close the file.
Go to the game Options/Gameplay and change the Input Buffer, test the different ones to what suits you best.

Still in the same Options menu, go to Video and set your MAX FPS to 120 (assuming you're using 120hz) and disable V-Sync. If your screen shows tearing afterwards, you can enable V-Sync again and it will be resolved.

I don't use Steam Controller Settings and the controller works as should except it doesn't vibrate but it will if you use it. I highly recommend you to not use any other third party controller programs.

Dont use any third party software, as mentioned above, try to go for as many frames as possible, doesnt matter the hz of your monitor, im playing with an average of 400 - 500 frames on a 60hz monitor and i can instantly feel a difference if i drop down to just 200, even though 200 is still alot of frames.

also, dont use bluetooth, go for wired if you want the most optimal scenario!

also very important, check on your desktop (not ingame) if your monitor is really set to 144hz, alot of people had that problem that they owned a 144hz monitor and never enabled it in the first place.

Not sure if i should have my fps more than 120 as my refresh rate is set at 120hz. Could you recommend the max fps (slider) i could use going off my specs up top? thanks for the response

thats why im telling you to try it out, even if you "only" have a certain amount of hz on your monitor, having more frames makes the game feel smoother still. i can feel the difference between 500 and 200 frames, the more, the faster it feels for me.

max fps recommendation? well, i unlocked the frames completely via the games .cfg file, so the limit is really just your hardware.

You have to check if you feel the Heavy Car Bug at certain times of the day, in my case, i feel Heavy Car Bug as most at 5 PM after that i have to wait. i just can play without it at 5 - 6am at that time i have 0 Heavy Car Bug, makes me able to hit every shot, my car can turn around without any delay and i can play well enough. I play with KB without mouse, and this is not an Settings issues. I've done everything even port forwarding, every fixes you find online are just "secs, mins and hours fixes", after that it comes back. Theres nothing we can do against this, and these last patches just make it worse. Some people have it, others don't, some people have multiple steam accounts, and they feel it one and don't feel in others. its not about FPS, is not about USB ports, its a problem with the game itself.

I tried all of that and it did work i was really impressed! However today everything has become sluggish again and i feel like its back to how it used to be, i was playing late in the evening when there was not a lot of players online and noticed it was buttery smooth and fast, i honestly do not know what is causing it. I tried the input buffers with performance graphs on etc and one of them made a difference but albeit temporarily.

I genuinely think it must be hardware related i am stuck and dont know which way to turn :(
my last thoughts are possibly some nvidia settings which could be changed/tweaked. Thank you for helping me out though i do appreciate it, a lot of people just say the heavy car bug is a myth but for me and others with a lot of play time i know its an issue

We are not the problem. So many people upgraded their pcs, paid for a better connection, made changes from WIFI to Cable, Changed pads, touched nvidia settings, played the game offline, made Steam clear caches. there's some posts about EPIC doing researches about this, there's so rumours that states the only way to fix this is developing another game with Unreal Engine 4, other rumours say its valve witht their "Lag Compensation " thing, we'll never know whats the issue here. But this problem makes people lose their games and force them to lose their ranks and push them to play more and more thinking they have a problem in their pcs or with their connections. This Heavy Car Bug even happened to pros like Kuxir. i got the conclusion that only way to play "Properly" its trying how we feel the car in Training - Aerial - All Star, if we feel the car is very heavy for reaching the roof, or doing turn around is better no to play like this. The worst part of this bug is when you are playing a ranked game and the first 2 mins you feel the game fast, after that it starts getting slow and slow till you won't be able to do clear balls and start missing everything forcing you to lose and making you think "You are the problem". no more to say about this, but you are not alone, and this is not a Myth.
Glad you agree with me :D

placebo :D :D

massive input lag / delay its not placebo. I have this ♥♥♥♥ since years, just in RL. Some of my friends have it too. I just can " blame" the servers, cause i tried everything to fix it.
Ive seen so many twitter posts about it, even from " pro´s", car feels sluggish etc. u want to tell me, its " placebo" cause u dont have it ?
be happy, if u never experienced it. Its horrible to play rl with a tractor.
