it feels exactly like this.
Is this proven?
Nah lol. Humans are just not consistent enough. You have a bad day, your TM has a bad day. We can't do the same thing over and over with the same succes rate. Down swings are normal, even though it feels like your TMs are just bad (and I know thats what it feels like) it just means you're not playing well yourself. You get tilled over a loss or two, try to do to much or to little etc. All part of the game.
Constant cycles of streaks, especially long like 10-15 are even mathematically almost not possible and fact that many people experience those all the time is a proof that some very weird things are going on behind the scenes. Advancing to higher rank/tier or approaching new rank is almost always countered with streak of the worst teammates and forced loses. It's similiar to playing on slot machines, streaks are more addictive. People win in a streak, get addictited and feel good, then they're on a losing streak, are tilted and want to regain what they lost, in gambling - money, in gaming - rank they were robbed of by forced loses.
It's nothing new, some other games are doing the same shenanigans. Communities of LOL, Overwatch and some other games are even more vocal about the issue with many threads, videos, comments complaining about "rigged matchmaking". Some other people like to call it "elo hell" and think it's normal, but it's not, it's scripted to force players to play more and drop their winrate closer to 50%. EA even published papers and explained that in order to increase player engagement, difficulty should be adjusted and players should never be teamed with players at the same level of skill - basically handicap mechanism that counters more skilled players with scrubs. It gives scrubs wins and upward movement in a rank, they're not discouraged and keep playing, and force those better players, already engaged to think they are way better than other players in that rank, but in order to escape that madness, they need to be even better to overcompensate for those scrubs. In reality it's all BS, because it's all relative and fake, game needs to let you advance, and that's it.
Game has to have some really good algorithm that rates real level of players skill, and just picks teammates/opponents, depending on what is needed at given moment, MMR is useless. I was checking stats of those absolutely garbage players and almost none of them had anything alarming in their stats, some had actually very good stats, and that's just a prove that this game is faking everything. Even those trash teammates who can't hit a ball and do anything useful, when they're on winning streak they have games where they're shining, scoring goals, being mvp's, cause their opponents are even more stupid and game wants them to feel good about themselves and keep playing. Even the worst of them all, still have winning streaks, because game literally win games for them, creating setup, where they don't have to do anything and still win. They stuck better players at lower ranks and boost trash players to higher ranks to use them as jokers for purposes I mentioned. When those "special" teammates are losing it's because of them, that's why some of them are flooding threads like this and defend MM, saying that teammates are fine, there are no forced loses, but OP needs to "get good" and it's his fault. Those deniers don't experience forced loses, because they're a boosted tool to force loses upon some other players and they're playing only with better players. Real MM would be more static in ranks, no crazy streaks and matches would be more equal, like 1-2 goals difference, so they fake those movements in ranks, and give matches to people so they could dominate their opponents with 6-0 and feel godlike, with a price of getting it all back later in losing streak ...
Lastly, game goes easier on people who play casually and lets them advance faster, but if you're already engaged, the more you try, the clamp will be harder on you with more and more waves of scrubs making you lose.
im pretty sure they have different pools or lobbies or categories in ranked, i will call them for example: the "less good" aka noobs, the "good" aka smart players that most of them are solo queuing and the "very good" aka tryhards or premades.
for example in the first category those noobs only get matched with other noobs in the "less good" lobbies so they can reach c1 c2 or even gc.
(hence when you check the stats of these noobs they seem perfectly fine because they mainly get matches with and against noobs like them)
you compare c1 players from each of those categories they all seem to have the same rank same mmr same stats. but the skill gap is sky high.
now this evil matchmaking happen to mix and match players from these pools if it detects that someone is winning too much and needs to be handicapped or the opposite. for example the good player who is on a winning streak gets teamed with players from the "less good" category against teams from the "good" category. if the player still manage to carry and win then they will raise the difficulty and get him matched against teams from the "very good" category.
i'v been put in those "less good" lobbies so many times mainly after a taking long break from playing. and its so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obvious i felt like im playing in silver ranks.
i watched streamers that are in c1 or higher and their level is so basic they cant even make a simple aerial and all the players in their matches are equal cuz they play in the "less good" lobbies.
i tried to play with premades and its still hard to win because suddenly noobs are extinct from the game cuz were being put in the "very good" lobbies where everyone is making backboard clears double taps air dribbles passing plays... i dont mind that at all. i think playing with premades is the only escape from noobs even though its hard but its more fun! the matches are always close and no win or loss streaks. the only downside is its sucks to find team mates.
unless you carry like a god being solo. nothing can be done with this joke system.
