Moving game to second monitor in fullscreen doesnt work. Any suggestions?
I'm tired of having to launch Steam in Big Picture mode just to get rocket league to play fullscreen in 4K on my 4K monitor. I have a 3 monitor setup. Middle monitor is main display (for chrome, Nvidia apps and or FPS games etc.) Second one on the right is a 4K monitor (the monitor I want to use in fullscreen for this game.)

So every time I launch Rocket League it pops up on my middle monitor usually a non-issue for any other game is a issue for this game. I use the windows+shift+ right arrow key to movie it to my second monitor and all I get is a white screen while middle monitor still displays and runs the game on it. I go to windowed and move it that way it works except I can't change resolution to anything past 1080.. Once i move the game to the second monitor in windowed mode and try to go fullscreen, the game goes back to the middle one. Same with me putting it into borderless mode. Going into NVIDIA settings and using the DSR to upscale to 4K and then trying to move my game to my 4K monitor makes the window extremely small and going to fullscreen just puts it back on my middle monitor.

Two options that I know of to make it work are changing which monitor is my main display or using big picture mode to basically change which monitor is my main display. Both annoying to use as I have to take more steps just to achieve a simple solution that works on any other game by easily choosing which monitor a game plays on without having to change which one is the main display. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to work?

when you start the game and it is on the middle screen try: press alt+enter game should go to window mode, move it to the right monitor and press again alt+enter

one more thing you could try, did work in windows 7 times so i dont know if it will work on windows 10: start rocket league, then put it in window mode, move it to your other monitor, then close it (do NOT try to go to fullscreen) then close rocket league. Now try to start rocket league again it should now start on your 2. monitor and you should be able to go into fullscreen mode

if that doesnt work there is one line in the TASystemSettings.ini that is called "AllowSecondaryDisplays=" which is set to false maybe you have to set it to true manually

I have tried opening the game and moving it to my second monitor in windowed and then closing the game and starting it again. Which didn't work. i will try the TASystemSettings.ini and see if that will work!

Why not play in windowed mode, move it then alt+enter to make it full screen on the monitor you want?

Here's a video showing what happens when I try to open rocket league on main display. Change it to windowed mode and moving it to my second monitor and then changing it to fullscreen...

Video-->https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kFnlM_wfH0&feature=youtu.be

As you can see, it doesn't work, the screen is small on my 4K monitor bc I cant change resolution to anything past 1080. If I go into NVIDIA settings and optimize it to use 4K resolution and run the game. the same exact thing in the video happens no matter what.

No other game do I have this issue but Rocket League.

Videos links don;t work I guess but When I open the game on my main display and change it to Windowed mode then move it to my second display and try to go fullscreen it just goes back to my main display.. Windowed mode on my second monitor still plays but in 1080 and I cant change the resolution to anything higher for it to be fullscreen windowed mode on my 4K display

have the same problem. workaround for me is... putting the 4k monitor as temporarily main screen. so the game won't switch. in the game optimize the settings and enjoy the game.

when finished switch the windows option to your prefered main screen.

yea that's what I have been doing and it's just really annoying that I have to do more steps just to get the game on the screen I want when other games work fine.

same here, but there seems to be no other way. so if you want to have it, do it.

you could suggest the feature to the devs on reddit maybe they add it.
