Teammate playing for the opponent
When reporting this kind of behavior, is it unsportsmanlike conduct or cheating? And does the context change anything? For example, if they have been colluding since the beginning, would it be considered cheating compared to when they decide they don't like us so they start to work for the other team halfway through the game, which may be considered unsportsmanlike conduct (intentional distruption of the game)?
It's in ranked btw.

No! It's most likely cheating = collusion if they're trying to score own goal.
Unsportsmanlike could be more like bumping, leaving, spamming Quick chat in Sarcastic and toxic way,AFK etc..

Read rules https://www.rocketleague.com/news/code-of-conduct-and-banning-policy/ :
"- Verbal Text Harassment (which includes offensive language, flooding, etc.)
- Unsportsmanlike conduct (which includes intentional disruption of the game, AFK’ers. etc.)
- Cheating (which includes smurfing, opponent collusion, etc.)"

Cheating for trying to score/scoring own goals.
Unsportsmanlike is more likely bumping teammates, leaving, spamming Quick chat in Sarcastic and toxic way,AFK etc..
I don't think context matter if it's from start or half, end.

No, Cheating is using third party tools.

They;re not. Its just unsportsman like conduct. Collussion is arranging the proocess of letting the other win.

Spamming quikc chat is just verbal text.

Bumping is part of the game.

Cheating does not include SMURFING.
.
They cant ban someone for 'smurfing' because these polayers are legit players. Calling them cheaters is stupid.

Instead of General rules you should read RL rules,I don't know 3rd party tools which are forbidden..

You think collusion players trying score/scoring own goals, passing to other team are not called that?
Originally posted by NaliWarcow:

No, Quick chat is actually allowed in Sarcastic way but if is teammate reacting on every mistake you made, that's Sarcastic-Toxic way which I report as Unsportsmanlike.

Bumping meant obviously as Teammate intentional bumping

Again according to RL rules Smurfing = Cheating. It can be judged by hours or whatever, but it's in rules so I Don't care Deal with It.

My 3 Screenshots don't think the same.

did not read.

Collusion implies that an arrangement was made Before the game started ( Trump controversy as example).
Unlikely that people, who "colluded" or know each other end up facing each other in mm( has happened to me before tho so not impossible).

If your mate gets salty, and starts scoring own goals, a few milliseconds into the game it is Very suspicious, but you can't prove collusion.
You may however argue that they are intentionally de ranking for whatever reason, which is as unsportsmanlike. as being a defeatist prick who scores own goals instead of leaving or FFing.

Report for bad sportsmanship (which it is no matter what) and clarify what he did wrong incase you get messaged I guess?
MonsTurkey Jun 15, 2019 @ 5:59pm
I file most of it under unsportsmanlike. If they get reported a few times, they get a ban. Be broad with your decision. They're not playing the game in a sportsman way, and more people put it under that.

I tend to agree that cheating falls under 3rd party tools anyway. That's how most games deal with that.

Obviously you dont care but smurfing involves second account. But what if I come from console and I am mulch better then plat?

What then? Why should I be accussed for smurfing, if I just started out on PC and qualified for plat or gold rank because its a team based game and I do not have the power to control my team mates? This game has no cross save.

You never can consider 'smurfing' cheating. There's seldom true smurfs in ranked.

Also, since you odnt know what colussion means, maybe look up the words 'Match Fixing'.

Someone whos salty because of stuff, and scores own goals, that means its unsportsman like conduct because hes influenced by salt. Not because its match fixing (which is a serious punnishment on pro level play.)

There's really only a few cases you could easely confirm that and that is people who premade, are forfeiting when they are in the lead constnatly. Those groups unfortnuniatly exist.

You sound like the guy that would inmediatly report someone.

Have some morale.

^That's an important point on smurfing. I never play duel. One of the challenges for last week was duels. Pop a Diamond into his first duel and you wind up with double digit goals in a couple minutes. Or a guy controlling the ball while the other chases.

That said, I have seen several smurfs, even a couple who called themselves out. "You plats play so weird." Champ 3 just seeing what it's like. The big thing is a guy with no team skills but complete ball control can look like a smurf until he plays with a guy like him. Then they just mess each other up.

Thanks. I apologize, I forgot full definition of collusion.
I will be reporting it as Unsportsmanlike from now.

I don't think you will get private message from Steam/Psyonix about report.

Well there's some reason to be Smurfing in rules. So I can't ban but RL Staff probably can.
And I apologize to you for collussion.
I know what's Match fixing from IBP Csgo but they lost because of skins and enemy team didn't know about it.
I don't report Immediately. I report after I realize that's toxic behaviour or Unsportsmanlike. For example I don't report guy who's afk at start on Kick-off, most likely after he say sorry and for me it never happened.

Well they also did yell I'M SELLING THE GAME in chat, so.. I am talking about situations like this one, where you can't attribute their behavior to, i don't know, being a bad player? Where they make sure everyone knows they are doing it on purpose.

Anyway, thank you for your responses everyone. I usually report anything like this as unsportsmanlike conduct, and it almost always happens if the person gets angry at their teammate, or if they forfeit very early in the game and we don't vote ("well then i'm afk"). But this one was intense, and it lasted till the end of the game, so I think I reported this under cheating, which is actually why I started to think about how to report stuff like that in the first place.

Well, they didn't know they can't sell game or they miss placed word instead of "account". So it's irrelevant, even because many players have disabled Chat (not me)..or tried to be Show-off for friends, YouTube,Twitch,etc..

From now I think it's better to report as Unsportsmanlike but I think it's only matter how Admin's filters work.

I played with guy who was switching sides just by little action. At start he played against us, but when enemy bumped him he suddenly said and joined our side.

collusion huh. If this is anything like reality it will turn out OP was the one colluding with the enemy.
