Accelerate and Boost are the same button on controller
I started playing this game again and I found that when I do accelerate on my controller, it also does boost if I push down the throttle all the way on my steam controller. For example, if I lightly press it it will accelerate without boost, but if I "click" it it will boost. This is really bugging me and does anyone know if there is a way to turn it off? Thanks for the help

Have you tried changing the keybinding for boost or acceleration?

Remap the full press in the Steam remapping software.

I know I'm late but the question wasn't answered. For anyone still having this issue, for some reason windows treats holding down RT as left clicking, and left click is the default for boost on Rocket League. Just rebind the boost button to something other than left click, I'm sure there is a more elegant solution to stop windows seeing RT as a left click but this does the job.

This has to do with something they've changed on the last patch. Only today my controller started boosting when I accelerate.

Yeah also got this problem today, thing is I was just playing fine a few minutes ago, restarted my game and then it started happening :theskull: Changing the mouse bind for boost worked.

To address the controller bindings in steam you need to go to big picture mode, find rocket league, go "manage game" or somesuch and inside there you find options for the various bindings..

What you may want to do is change "use steam controller configuration for non-steam controllers to "forced off" or otherwise find in the binding set up a way to set it be a default controller rather than trying to pass itself off as a mouse or something in-game

Honestly it's all a bit of a confusing mess in there but after a long time messing around i starts to make a sense.. useful actually being able to configure different games to use the controller for keybinds mouse clicks, but there we go.

For anyone looking for how to configure a controller in steam. Go to your library click on the game you want to configure and on the same line as the green play button all the way over to the right side of the window is a settings (cog), a info (i) and a (star) button. Once you plug your controller in. A controller Icon will appear next to those. Click on that and configure away. It may work better just to ENTER BIG PICTURE MODE then find it because I think they are tied together through coding somehow.
