I have 1.4k hours and I think that is at best average, most with my hours should be Champ 2/3.

In any case Champ 2 I am at now and it seems quite poor still, perhaps rank inflation.

i have over 2000 hours - platinum 1 in 3's and gold 2 or 3 in 2's and silver in 1's ( took me almost 4 years ) and you guys are complaining, about other players, not being good, i know i am not good, but i keep playing, and don't blame others for it. maybe, just maybe, have a deeper look at yourself before blaming the world, you might realise you are not as good as you think. but what do i know?

We're about the same rank and I have just under 600 hours played (about half of it played in AI games). Maybe we'll chance into one another in a random queue :)

See, here's the thing. I've gotten to champ 1 even though I consider myself at best Plat3-Diamond 1. How I've gotten to champ 1? Hell if I know. Combination of bad matchups, luck, partial skill. Sometimes I'll go up Diamond 3-Champ 1 and steamroll them, outmaneuvering everything they do. Other times I'll go against Diamond 2's and they steamroll me. Random af.

I see the same intelligence level from bronze up to champ. The only difference seems to be the individual skill, such as being able to hit the ball, flying and passing the ball to serve yourself. Being able to notice where your teammates are, passing your teammates, not chasing the ball, not being slow, and so on seems to be stuff that doesn't differ very much between these ranks.
It's really sad to see these egomaniacs play the game when your number one priority should be the teamwork when playing anything except 1v1.

You got into Champ because you deserved to. There's no way luck can account for rising above Silver, really; there are too many games involved for it to be simply good fortune. If you don't think you have the technical ability, then what you do have is the sense to be in the right places at the right times.

When you get steamrollered by Diamonds, those may well be people who are on a quick journey up to a much higher rank, and them being Diamond at the time they met you is irrelevant if they end up high Champ within the season. In that sense, they were high Champ all along.

Not a humble brag at all. I am just a normal man with a job who does not play video games all day everyday.

I do not excel at anything in life. My biggest skill is probably typing 140 wpm - which again is average for someone who grew up on instant messaging.

I am an average man and proof that you can be decent in RL with time, but I still do not think Champ 1 or Champ 2 is THAT good.
