What's the best controller for Rocket League?

I currently play on keyboard and mouse, and have enjoyed doing so for the past month. I recently realized that to be able to "go airborne" I'm going to need to get a controller. I have never owned a console and don't have much experience with controllers besides those couple of times at friend's houses. What would you guys recommend as a good starting controller for rocket league? Thanks for your input!

ps4 contoller is the best IMO, ive used 360, xb1, ps4, ps2 and ps3 contollers, and ps4 was the best

I've tried the DS4 but wasn't comfortable with it. I'm looking at the Xbox one controller is that a good choice?

I use one, they're not bad. Triggers are really comfortable.

Used to play with an Xbox controller.. I asked some of the top 10 players in the game and they all said they used a PS4 controller. It feels really smooth and natural. I don't own a PS4, but the controller is worth it for this game.

i didnt get a controller for about 50 hours after playing this on keyboard mouse, i tried for a day and just the basics on the ground had me stuffing up so i went back, hard to go from 20 years of pc to controller

Taking into account any game, not just RL, compatibilty, price, etc, I recommend the 360 one

I was in the same boat but had more hours in. Took me about 20 hours of gameplay to make the switch. Would not switch back now. Suffer through it. It's worth it.

I agree, its quite doable, but most people prefer the quick and easy route, which is normally a controller if they come from a console gaming background, i mean, i prefer to try new things and if it doesn't feel right, i stop and to me, the controller felt wrong for me, so i stopped trying.
