Default is 30.
I have mine set a bit lower.
Couldn't this indicate that the controller stick itself is malfunctioning, but only to a very slight degree? Perhaps the other games it works in have bigger deadzones, so the problem doesn't manifest in them?
the reason for the dead zone is because not all controllers are equal, maybe his is newer and yours is older, sticks wear out, and even if yours is new there is a certain tolerance allowed to how much drift a controller stick can have before they wont sell it, hence why games have a deadzone setting, turn it down until you get drift like that and then turn it back up 1 notch so it doesnt drift
Weird issue, but to me it sounds mechanical. I hope you get it sorted out.
