So if I never touch a loot crate, what is obtainable in this game?

I made the "mistake" of gambling on the first crate i had (yes, its gambling) and got a skin, for vehicle I dont own making my $1.50 basically akin to being thrown in the garbage. Thankfully I had a viewer on my stream make a donation to help recoup that but I have to ask...

Is everything obtainable without these gambling crates? Also if your wondering what i got it is the "jager 619 rs: snakeskin" on xbox one. Thats fine and all but i bought the Esper DLC and this skin is only for this specific car. This game runs on the unreal engine which is PLENTY good enough to skin everything on the fly, there is no engine limitation to have these per vehicle.

So if i never buy a lootcrate ever again (which I wont) am I going to have this stuck in my inventory forever? even if i get this RS whatever im not gonna use it, its why i BOUGHT the esper.

I only paid 5$ plus 1$ for a dlc car for rocket league (5$ ms coupon plus on sale) and this crate business and never being able to get like 75% of the cool items just... irks me to no end, what a waste of money this game is, just make it free to play at this point.

I dont even want to play this game anymore, i played a few matches got a crate paid money and got an item i cant use and have to then go through this massive hassle of going to forums and random sites to sell this xbox one skin of a car i dont even have for something im not even sure is worth it in the end for the hassle.

all this is giving me a headache, this is just.. wrong.

Also I find it funny that rocket league says they will ban anyone trying to sell for real world money. just look at ebay! they clearly dont care if its against TOS or not the TOS is just to protect them legally but in all honesty in practice they condone it just fine.

That's not the case. Whether or not Ebay cares about the problem, there's too many transactions going on for them to catch the ones where people sell Rocket League gear on their site.

Whether or not they care, it's impossible for them to do anything about it.

They could disable trading, make the boxes openable like regular loot crates, and get rid of keys. Then maybe do gold skins for 5$ to help fund these tournaments. That would stop it.

people seem to forget that in the end a company is there to make money, not to babysit you.

Also the trading market is a big part of this game and they're not going to remove it.

yeah well here's hopeing that Battlefront 2 made such a mess that lawmakers might actually are going to regulate this bs. Its not the best solution but right now ill take it. I personally see it as a form of gambling full stop. And ive gambled before when I was up in reno last year.. same stuff. Even down to the design of the loot wheel.

I did like the 3D gambling machine though, had neat looking ladies and an overlay that was I think see through OLED's that made it look 3D. All the chicks on the machines looked like thumbnails you see on all those mobile games.

You need to stop being concerned about loot crates. They have no bearing on the game at all. None.

Go in the options and disable them so you wont see them and you can forget they exist since they obviously bother you a lot.

I did disable it, but thats not the point if it bothers me or not. Its how i KNOW how it affects other people. ya know.. geniune concern for actual other human beings? I guess people dont care so long as they see nothing wrong with it themselves.

Why would you buy video games at all if you have some concern for their effect on other human beings than yourself? All video games are a waste of money. They prevent people from using their time to do productive activities that could improve the world for them and others and they waste electrical power which results in the burning of fossil fuels which pollute the environment.

Anyhow if you have some special concern about the effect of loot crates on mankind, you should avoid buying games before you find out if they have loot crates and when you find out they do, you shouldn't pay $1.50 for a loot crate because that only propagates the sale of loot crates as a valid and successful commercial endeavor. You cannot both complain about a commercial practice and support it at the same time.

To answer your orginal question. Yes you can get some items in this game but only through grinding. (Oh boy, here we go.) Doing trade-ups from items you get that are dropped can lead to some nice battle-cars that can be colored. You could then turn around and trade them. All up to you, but I'm just throwing out something that is possible, but not recommended.
