Also Funnily enough majority of players that say this are Diamond or higher, which from what i see, do not have that problem.
I have seen friends that are diamonds and champions and the skill of the players they face are roughly the same as them, just sometimes slightly worse or slightly better...if only the lower ranks was that stable when it comes to skill and rank ratio, but sadly, due to boosting and smurfing, its just messed up.
Matchmaking it's broken sometimes I win 10-20 times in a row and get plat and later lose 10-20 times and go to silver because there are allways unbalanced matches that is a fact for everyone...
and a lot of times have matches like this one :
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198070709807/screenshot/876377264437821010
and ofc there are sometimes that i'm the low rank and make 5 goals in a match againts the high ranks...
Well, you can't really go by a match of golds vs unranked, because you might not know what rank they were previously.
I have several screenshots of matches where they are clearly boosting, even if they are friends, i still think it is boosting.
Two main things (neglecting smurfs obviously) :
1. You're not just good at the game overall, there's lots of small things to be good at (dribbles, passes, defense, rotation, reads, ... )
As you get to higher ranks, people get better at more things (hence the more balanced games), while in the lower / mid ranks, people are good at less things, making the games have a bigger variance.
2. There's different playstyles.
When playing random/solo standard especially there's also the matter of how quickly you (and each of your teammates) can adapt to your team. If the 3 of you are great offensive players that score 80% of their shots but none of you can block a single shot from the opponent it gets down to who gets more chances.
In that regard, getting a couple of buddies to play with regularly helps because you get accustomed to the others playstyle, which can also help you focus on improving other aspects.
Also, anybody can have a bad game or day, it happens, don't tell others they are bad, What a Save!, etc. , morale is not exclusive to the Military.
Personal advice when trying to climb solo in ~plat: check what your teammates are doing and fill the hole. Both mates chasing the ball / always on offense? Sit in net, wait for the counterplays. One teammate constantly sitting in net? Focus on offense (not saying never go back). Don't trust on your teammates to adjust their own playstyle to suit the team.
Either way, prepare for a good grind until upper plat/diamond, it's gonna take a while.
Boosting happens less so at the higher ranks but smurfs are certainly still around but sometimes the people you think are smurfs arent, theyre just playing really well at that moment. I would focus less on which rank you reach for like 10 games and just keep grinding away till you become more consistent and then can stay at plat.
and yes, getting a team to play with is defintely gonna help you out.
plat 1-2 ranks are where all the semi-bad players are, you need to find another good player that can actually hit plat 3 and stay there if you want get out of plat1-2 ranks.
its like a cancer this plat1-2 ranks that you can't get out until you find the correct medicine, and the correct medicine it's make a team until you hit plat 3.
In plat 3 it's where people start to use the brain and where you can see if you belong to plat 3 rank or in otherway you should stay arround gold 3 - plat1.
don't expect get out of plat 1-2 playing whit randoms, forget it, don't think in it. find a mate and go to plat 3 then start again whit randoms.
i say that from my own experience playing 99.9% whit randoms. i was at same situation like you just a few week ago, but once i found a nice mates to play whit them we ranked until plat 3, from here i played soloqueue and i'm moving from diamond 1 to diamond 2. and again whit the same situation of nice win streak and then a lose streak.
and i know isn't my problem i play well for diamond 3, maybe not for champion but for diamond 3 i'm good enough.
so the MM of this game it's made for join bad players whit good players expecting you carry them, so when you a lose streak because you can't carry you start getting decent mates and you do a win streak, but then the game start again the cicle, you get bad players as a mate and you start the lose streak again.
your problem it's the same than me, i'm good but i'm bad at carry, if i got a mate whit similar "skills" than me we win, if i get a mate whit lower skills than me we have a high chance to lose because his fails the 90% of time, the rest 10% are my fails because i'm not perfect i make some fails sometimes.
Adapt to the player you are with, be consistent, become faster
If you work on all these things, you will skyrocket in rank.
Best regards
/champion
Well, my experience with solo-queueing is if i do bad i get requests to die or get aids or cancer and die slowly from it....and this is from missing a single shot.
Also, i have been Platinum III before and its just as bad as Plat I and Plat II, i was a Plat II in 2s after my 10 placement matches and promptly lost it.....you know why? because half of the matches were boost groups, a diamond and a bronze, silver or gold and the diamond did all the work and the lower rank did nothing besides a little movement to prevent afk disconnections.
The other half were just impossible to win or impossible to lose and a very, VERY small percentage was a balance match.....which i just BARELY lost.
Boosting is a major problem, even if it is 2 friends, when one of them is high skilled AND high ranked and the other is not on both accounts, its just wrong and should be punishable like normal boosting.
either take a break or play through it, but more than likely its cus you are slightly tilted and therefore playing worse.
