Need advice on how to play 2v2
I'm not very good and am Bronze division III, and I think part of my problem is that I just don't understand how to play 2v2, which is my preferred mode.

Almost every single person I play with chases the ball 100% of the time no matter where I am. I'm even having people cut in front of me when I'm running down the sideline (which makes it harder for me to get in position in the middle).

Basically, what I end up doing is sitting back and letting them chase. On defense I stay in the goal unless I need to challenge a shot. On offense I trail slowly down the middle hoping for a center. I don't really know what else to do. Then, of course, I only score about 200 to 350 points because I rarely get to touch the ball (which when we are having a bad game makes the other player accuse me of costing him the win, which may well be accurate).

So how do I play with nonstop ball chasers? I do believe this is my fault and that I'm just not playing correctly, so if some veterans would like to pop in and give me some advice, that would be great.

well it's bronze basicly.. there are alway's ball chasers in every rank, with 600 hours i still don't know how to properly play with them.. i just let them do their thing and make sure i'm in a spot to shoot it on target if they ever pass and in a spot where i can go back fast enough to stop the counter attack

I let them ball-chase and I'll defend. Defend as in you're not leaving the goal. Clear it and stay behind.

Other than that, I can give a few tips how to improve your gameplay.

Thanks all, and I'd love tips on how to improve my gameplay. I've been playing practice games against bots trying to do better with aerials.

You should practice ground shots, aerial clears, easy aerial saves (the all star goalkeeper training mode should help if u can get 100%),half flipping and positioning

At your skill level, I would start to do basic aerials. Also make sure that defence is your strong point, as by the sounds of it you do a lot of defending. Other stuff that I would recommend has already been recommended by others.

It's difficult to play with ballchasers. It's so strange that people like that even want to play anything other than duels, isn't it?
Best advice I can give is to use your quick chat. "I got it" "defending" and "wow" in as sarcastic a fashion as possible. For the truly acerbic, you might want to add "what a play" to your lexicon :D

If you don't have to wait then don't rotate. Your team mate ball chases, no problem, let him do his thing, give him some room, and be ready to step in and help when needed or stop a rebound from going back to your goal. For better or worse have your mates back always. Usually when they see you are trying to enable them, instead of taking controll of the ball, They will start working with you.

I can't help you because I'm that toxic ballchaser.

Yes you can. Tell what your ideal teammate would do.
