Report a translation problem
Reporting naughty players via the in-game report menu is the best thing you can do when encountering problematic people in Rocket League. Reports are then reviewed, firstly by the automated system where it looks for swearing, racial slurs as well as discriminative terms being used in the chat, but if a ban isn't warranted directly after that process, the report will be reviewed by a Psyonix Employee. Afterwich a decision will be made on whether a ban is needed or not. In most cases, it is.
So yes, reports are all that Psyonix asks of the community, then they will handle the rest!
Reporting for Unsportsmanlike Conduct should be sufficient! (For throwing, not forfeiting)
Which profanity was that you used then? You don't know? No, neither does anyone.
The Auto ban system does not work. It does not change attitudes, it does not remove trolls, idiots or griefers. In fact all they've done is add another layer to the arrogant little arseholes greifing armoury when someone calls them out on their rather annoying and frustrating antics, you get angry, you say something in the heat of themoment, you get banned.
So far I've managed to personally experiance that ♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥ are on the list. And I'm pretty sure '♥♥♥♥♥♥' is as well. Whilst that is certainly not something I would use very often (although I'm sure I have used it occasionally whilst trying to find a way to communicate with the Rocket League Yoof) I am pretty sure my latest ban is for that. Although I'm pretty sure I was baited as this was how the exchange went.
Them - 'you calling me retarded you ♥♥♥♥?'
Me - 'I never called you retarded mate, I'm just saying can you please stop being a ballchasing noob'.
I am now serving my weeks ban.
I have tried to get Pysonix to tell me the exact nature of my transgressions every time I am banned so I can Moderate my language for all those presious little snowflakes out there.
I've also asked them to contextualise the comments made and review the game they are made in.
They neither supply reasons, or offer any feedback as the list of bannable words is not made public. Although I was assured that the ban system is working correctly and that it is not based on a players subjectivity.
Which I found interesting, as the very pressing of the report button is due to subjective reasoning, or lack of it in many players cases.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure if I was read back some of the comments I have made I would myself be quite embarrised. But read them in conjunction with the game and you'll be like, 'ok, that was a bit harsh, but it was fair'.
Sad to see such an excellent game completly destroy its own player base.
I don't spend any money on it anyway, so the little ♥♥♥♥♥ can keep it for now.
Make your own whining topic, not like we will do more than laugh.
Well, arn't we sanctimonious. Guys, I Love this game. Love it's simple mechanics, love its tactical complexity.
It's frustrating playing with people who don't get it. Sometimes that frustration bubbles over.
My 'profanity' is not the same as yours. What I perceive as 'profane' (want to give us a definition oh sanctimonious one?) and what you percieve as profane will be markedly different not just through language differences, knowledge and inflection but also based on contextuality of any given situation. There are words that I use in every day language that is not deemed offensive anywhere but in the rather limited Californian VoCab of Pysonix.
Similarily there are word usages used in everyday RL speek that I find DEEPLY offensive, but they apparently are fine to use in the state of California.
I don't mind knowing what words I can't use, what I don't like is only finding out I can't use them untill someone reaches for the ban hammer.
I have an extensive vocabulry emcompassing many many insults. Its getting hard to rememeber which ones I can't use.
Let me guess, do you guys report for single usage?
