Forget RL and investigate your networking. Check your connection at speedtest.net, read your motherboard manual, check the BIOS settings, try moving your gfx card to another slot, consider buying a separate dedicated network card (so you can disable the motherboard one).
I guess this game loves to lag on pc's with cpu bottlenecks a lot. I have no problem with any other game, they work as it should even while there's a bottleneck.
the last time i played RL was during the newest event and i haven't done any driver updates for my GPU or any other stuff.
the latest update changed how the ball/car feel again...dont know why they keep doing stealth updates on the damn ball and car feel....feels like everything's going more and more slow motion mode....
Once you go online, the game has to load everyone’s boosts, trails, animated decals and the rest of items.
Suddenly there are more players with special effects which will affect performance.
Several of them have particle effects or even ragdolls (like bunny ears topper) this is the main reason why the game might choke for a bit when the match starts, by loading and starting up the effects of everyone within a big list of items on the game.
At least from my experience with Nvidia drivers, after a certain amount of driver updates, I have to do a DDU which clears performance issues (for example the drivers I installed of 01-08, killed my performance by half, the DDU solved it)
Having graphics card overclock software also can mess with the overall performance, surprisingly even the software supplied within the same company, like having a asus card and using asus gpu tweak.
Gforce experience is also something that will make an impact on the overall performance even if it’s by a small percentage, depending on how powerful your hardware is.
Rant aside, if you have a decent and above recommended specs and there are performance issues, the problem is likely a software related that once solved, the game runs perfectly.
Nothing was changed.
