FPS LAG only online??
I recently upgraded my gpu from a GTX 760 to a GTX 1060. I still have my cpu which is a AMD FX 6300.
my problem is that in training my fps is fine. I get anywhere from like 100-130 fps. However as soon as i go online my fps drops to about 50 fps. It's not even a smooth 50 fps its very stuttery and almost unplayable. I've tried reinstalling the game, tweaking with gamesettings, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling geforce experience. I haven't played the game in weeks because of my problem please help.

Are you on wifi? Is you HSF clean? You should be getting 150+. My system is much lower than yours but I manage to pretty much stay over 130fps.

I'm also on a 1060, i5-2500K @ 3.30GHz, Win 7 and I'm getting 170-200+
Other games work fine. rocket league settings are all high quality except things like bloom and motion blur i turn al those things off. My CPU as i said is it AMD FX-6300. a little outdated but it shouldnt be affecting my this badly.

If it is only online, it is a networking problem surely. Perhaps the network chipset on your motherboard is conflicting with something.

Forget RL and investigate your networking. Check your connection at speedtest.net, read your motherboard manual, check the BIOS settings, try moving your gfx card to another slot, consider buying a separate dedicated network card (so you can disable the motherboard one).

But other games like Rainbow Six Siege, Counterstrike, League of Legends, they all work fine.

Same issue here. 2 days ago i've upgraded to GTX 1080 from HD 7870 and i'm having stutters everywhere. My CPU is FX-8300 oc'ed to 4.8 to minimalize to bottleneck.
I guess this game loves to lag on pc's with cpu bottlenecks a lot. I have no problem with any other game, they work as it should even while there's a bottleneck.

Same problem here. Did anybody find a fix?

It has to do with RL for sure because I have the same issue it started after some update a while ago the problem is for sure on the RL side

I fixed it for myself. Idk if it will help you. I turned off dynamic lighting. To do so go to C:\Users\Your User\Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Config. Open file TASystemSettings.ini with a notepad and change setting DynamicLights to False. Hope i helped someone.

FIX 99% WORKING
Fix working for my friend was reseting network in windows 10 options ( just type in start "Network reset" ) My friend have also problem with network speed and this solve it too. It's obvious taht it is network problem if you have lags only with internet.

It's obvious it isn't a network issue if your FRAMERATE drops.

RL did something all right...my PC just froze on the damn menu after exiting a game...had to force shutdown via power button.

the last time i played RL was during the newest event and i haven't done any driver updates for my GPU or any other stuff.

the latest update changed how the ball/car feel again...dont know why they keep doing stealth updates on the damn ball and car feel....feels like everything's going more and more slow motion mode....

People who say that in training the performance is better than online, don’t realize that it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a network issue.

Once you go online, the game has to load everyone’s boosts, trails, animated decals and the rest of items.
Suddenly there are more players with special effects which will affect performance.

Several of them have particle effects or even ragdolls (like bunny ears topper) this is the main reason why the game might choke for a bit when the match starts, by loading and starting up the effects of everyone within a big list of items on the game.

At least from my experience with Nvidia drivers, after a certain amount of driver updates, I have to do a DDU which clears performance issues (for example the drivers I installed of 01-08, killed my performance by half, the DDU solved it)

Having graphics card overclock software also can mess with the overall performance, surprisingly even the software supplied within the same company, like having a asus card and using asus gpu tweak.

Gforce experience is also something that will make an impact on the overall performance even if it’s by a small percentage, depending on how powerful your hardware is.

Rant aside, if you have a decent and above recommended specs and there are performance issues, the problem is likely a software related that once solved, the game runs perfectly.
