That said the reason I put two actions in a single button is because some two years ago I've started to incorporate power slide more into my ground movement more and not too long ago I found it helpful with awkward landing. Then again when I'm up in the air I don't slide and vice versa.
The advantage is that it frees up an extra button. Some pros use that combo on LB and some GC youtubers such as Fluump. I think though that you get the proper benefit of it if you're using RB for boost. It feels alot more comfortable. Each to their own though. Use whatever makes it comfortable for you.
I'm afraid I don't know, since I'm currently using xbox one controller and I don't use air roll left & right.
But, if it is anything of help I remember one time when I took a break from RL for a while and when I came back, there was a prompt about using new controller config or what not. Using that new config or whatever it didn't let me bind two function in one button so I revert it back via steam setting.
It's quite complicated since I've been using four different controllers since 2015 with RL, from chinese ps3 rip-off, a logitech f310, a ds4, and my current xbox all with the same probably outdated config.
If I am to look at my Steam Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings it'll have Xbox One controller as the detected controllers but with Playstation Configuration Support checkbox ticked.
All that said, perhaps quickER 🛠 can help you out more with your problem.
