I'm not good at wording this stuff, here's a good post I saw on reddit from a user named "pHorniCaiTe" answering your question:

The answer is chargebacks and scams. If I was stealing steam accounts, and there was no trade ban when buying new items, I could use the saved credit card, max it out with keys, and then trade them to myself to be sold for real cash later. With a 7 day restriction, if this happens, you have time to file a chargeback or something similar before the attacker can even move the items.

In the same line of thought, I could use a vpn and pretend to be a hijacker, do the same thing, and make the money myself. Then what does psyonix do? They can't remove those keys from other people's inventories. And that's why duped items exist on csgo and tf2. You can't just remove an item/key from somebody who bought it off a scammer. 9/10 times they did legit trades and did nothing wrong. All you can do is ban the scammer.

I know it sucks having to wait, but take it from someone who had over $7k(yes, usd) in items across tf2 and csgo, this is good for everyone, not just most people, literally everyone.

I personally think the games should just end when the other team scores too many goals within a set amount of time.

Quite fed up with players that refuse to forfeit when the match is unwinnable.

ye i se the point :/ but for steam user they could use the steam guard to confirm if your the owner or not.
and then take away the 7days limit for those who can confirm it. or am i stupid now?

Again the waits and the limits standard since they dont do market or steam trading so authenicater would put them on that patch , also only in game wait and trading to fight anything that happened in cs go or betting since its a competitive game, you can bet on it in vegas.... (Devs have said they wouldnt use steam market or trading, they said it like a promise, so dont expect it to change)

Trust me, I agree, but Rocket League's system and Steam's system are two different things, and it's Psyonix's decision to implement this security measure.

Personally, I think there should be some sort of verification system put in place, as an entire week is a pretty excessive wait for those who want to trade legit. But I'm not the security expert.

EDIT: I have been ninja'd.

How is it practice when you have 0% chance of doing anything?

Nah, you can't learn from anything from matches that have you against players so much worse than you or just as over the top better than you, you can't learn anything from it, it would be a waste of time.

Its like, i would play against Woofless, JonSandman or even Kronovi atleast once, if i ever had the chance, but would i play against more than once?? hell no, playing a match that is already lost is a waste of time and no point in playing it.

That's not what he was asking.

He doesn't read anything, he just wants to complain about other people playing bad and keeping him back....in every topic possible.
