Xbox One controller not working [SOLVED]
Guys, I need some help,

I broke my last controller and had to buy a new one, so I bought the Xbox One Wireless controller with the wireless adapter supported by Microsoft (said to be compatible with Windows 10, which I have).

So when I got the controller, I plugged the adapter in and connected the controller. So far so good.

But... when I tried it out on the only game I'm gonna use it with (Rocket League), it didn't do anything. The game doesn't show any Xbox button logo's so still thinks I'm using keyboard and mouse. I tried the controller on other games and it worked perfectly fine.

I have NO other controllers connected or shown anywere. Xbox claims the drivers are within Windows 10, so I can't download them anywhere (at least I didn't find where).

I have tried:
- Using a Bluetooth dongle, again, works with every game except for Rocket League.
- Using the controller wired, but I think it's not supposed to be played wired, because it worked with none of the games I tried it with.
- Using Xbox Accesoires app in Windows 10 store, it notices my controller, reacts to it perfectly fine.
-Re-installing the game, doesn't change anything.
-Veryfying game integrity cache, doesn't change anything.

Does any of you guys now if this is fixable and/or how I can fix this? I don't want to refund the controller and find a new one... It is supposed to be working fine imo.

Alright, fixed it. I once had a Stratus XL steelseries controller. I had to use an Emulator for it to play Rocket League with it. These emulator files were still in the Rocket League executable folder. I think RL prioritised those above the Xbox One controller. Thnx for the help.

I use the same deal works fine. Is sometimes wonky if your battery dies or while jumping around in the menu sometimes it just wont switch back to the controller. Usually going into free play and mashing everything on the controller pops it back. Got a link for which controller/set you bought?

Tried re-installing and verifying game integrity cache. Still does not notice the controller in Rocket League

Try uninstalling your controller from device manager. Also be sure there aren't any hidden duplicates (from your old controller) in there that may somehow be confusing Rocket League.

Alright, there is a faded icon of the Xbox controller in device manager, I tried to remove it, but it doesn't disappear.... Also how do find hidden duplicates from older controllers? I'm not the best with finding those locations

I cant figure out how how do you do it

If you have the same problem that I did, it's not that hard. If so, you have used another controller in the past and used an emulator for that (a program to bind certain controller buttons to certain keyboard/supported controller clicks). This emulator makes a file in your Rocket League folder so that Rocket League knows how to 'translate' your controller clicks.

BUT you now have another controller and it doesn't seem to work. This is because Rocket League still tries to translate your button presses while you already use a supported controller. The only thing you have to do to fix this, is simply remove the file in the Rocket League folder which the emulator placed there. If you know which file it is, you can remove this yourself, but if you forgot, a simple reinstall of Rocket League must do the trick.

If this still didn't fix the problem, you have another problem with your controller than I did.

Hope this helps.
