OBS & Rocket League conflict
Hey,

I used to stream weekly with OBS, but stopped for a month or so.
When I finally had time to stream again, I saw some really big FPS drops and stuttering while streaming Rocket League.
This problem only happens on Rocket League. The game lags already when OBS is only running (so not recording or streaming).
I have a high-end gaming rig, so can't be the problem.
Also i've tried more heavy games like:
Overwatch
Playerunkowns battleground

On those games i have no problems at all!!!
Anyone an idea what the problem can be?

Greetings zMoonya

How are you capturing the game?

I'm using OBS studio
NVENC encorder
rescaled at 1280x720 (native resolution is 1440p)
CBR 3500 bitrate

Let me rephrase.

What method. Display Capture? Game Capture? Window Capture?

The way a game is captured can have performance impacts.

I'm using Gamecapture, mode: capture specific window

Did you try running OBS as Administrator?

Also, what are your PC specs?
zMoonya May 18, 2017 @ 12:21pm
Tried admin,
i've got a GTX 1080 and a i7-6700k processor and samsung 850 SSD's, 16gb ram

I'll try it out on my rig when I get home. I haven't tried capturing Rocket League in awhile. Your PC specs are pretty close to mine.

Are you on Windows 10 Creator's Update?

Edit: Won't be off work for another hour and half.

Thanks for all your help :)!

I have an up-todate windows 10 pc, so i guess the Creator's Update!

it's alright!

Okay. I think I might have figured it out.

I uncapped my FPS so I'd hit 250 in the main menu...

When I opened OBS and clicked back into the game. My FPS dropped dramatically and there was a ton of stutter.

I fixed it by going into Windows 10's Settings and disabled the new Game Mode introduced with Creator's Update.

Edit: Make sure OBS and Rocket League aren't running when you change it.

I'll check it out

I'd also recommend disabling the Game DVR... in Windows Settings and in the Xbox app.

Edit: Forgot to mention. I am using Display Capture and not Game Capture.

The stutters are gone! Fps is not my usual capped and stable 150fps, but a 60-70 instead. It's better then: unstable 110fps with stutters, right!?

I gonna check other settings aswell just to see if there is something unusual
