how does the atomizer work?

Put items that are researchable into it, press "Okay" or w/e it says. Stuff like goo and other random things are researchable. Ask your scientist.

Look at the items in your inventory. Research objects will have text like "Contains X and Y" where X and Y will have a specific coloration. Put those in the Atomizer, click "Ready" button. Look at science screen and see how much material you have stored and what you can do with it.
