Unsatisfied
I'm sad about the realistic ending. I need to destroy Crazy Mita and let the Mitaverse live in harmony.

Here, you have an interesting world set up by the versions of Mitas, all have interesting and unique characteristics. Then, for some reason, one of these Mitas is evil and just wants to capture players because... well that's what evil AI's do of course. So we go through the entire game, we get to the point where it seems like we can defeat her, and... oops, sorry, the evil Mita god can't actually be defeated because she... isn't... Mita? And then we just lose.

No outsmarting. Nothing clever. Nothing special.

Which is disappointing to me because it kind of invalidates everything else intereting the game offers. There is no reason for the other versions of Mita, there is no reason for the escapes and saves our character goes through, all of that gets completely wasted once the ending occurs. It effectively spoils the rest of the game.

Sadly, it's simply disappointing.

true, kinda made all the buildup meaningless. hoping they'd add more endings
What makes me disappointed is that after I fetched my console in the basement's safe, we cannot interact with it in anyway but to watch the player pull the cartridge out and suicide. Why? I even tried following routes:
1. After Kind Mita let me get the other player's console, I unlocked the safe and got my console. Still suicide. Why can't I just bring this console to kind Mita and let she teach me how to operate on it?
2. After Kind Mita taught me to shutdown the other player's console, I tried to open the safe while being chased by Crazy Mita. But the player was forced to crouch and cannot stand up to type the password. Only escape or get killed.

WE MUST DESTROY CRAZY MITA
Why are people so toxic about the ending, they claim the ending is 10/10 and they counter their own rating by saying the ending is lazy, if you are serious about the ending being lazy then your rating of 10/10 is a lie. I watch other people play the game because I will never be able to play the game myslelf, My lap top can't handle the graphic despite being window 11. Some people might thing the ending is lazy because they don't get the message at all, the character call the player 1 is a character that you play as, not a real player, if you pay attention at the ending of the main story (Spoiler warning for people that have not play or did not watch other people play). The ending when the player fail she said the real you is not needed anymore, meaning in the very first loop the real original player from that world that is not you already escape, so from the start she his playing the cartridge copy of the original player, so you as the player can only experience the cartridge version of the player and not the story of the original player. Before you talk to kind Mita and put the correct code in the safe it says your 17% if that really meant that your not a cartridge yet you would not die pulling the cartridge out and be back in the real world and have a real good ending, and that would ruin the entire concept of the story. Then it goes back to the stay ending which is not finish by the developer.

When we pull out the cartridge, it doesn't actually say we die. We get booted out of the game to the main menu. That can be interpreted as us dying, but it can also be interpreted as Player 1 being booted out of the game.

Kind Mita states that she doesn't know what would happen if you just yanked the cartridge of a player out, that it could kill the player. that's why you turn that one players console off instead of remove his cartridge. the fact that the game dose not have any form of clarification on what happens when you yank out your own cartridge leaves only the implication of what the game itself tells you could happen. its possible that the player returns to the real world, but like with an actual computer yanking out important running hardware could have catastrophic effects and the game already implies an out come. even in the real world back in N64 and Supper Nintendo and the like you were warned to not remove the cartridge without powering the system off first so its not like kind Mita's warning doesn't have real world merit.

It all depend on the quality of the game cartridge because people did the Cartridge swamping with Super mario bros. and Tenis on the NES to be able to see world beyond World 8 in Super mario bros. for the NES that mean you have to remove the cartridge while it was still on, maybe not the first time doing it, but if you do it way too often then yes at some point it will not work. Rember in AGDQ they did abritrary code execution with Super mario all-stars + super mario world, so all 5 game can be done really fast by doing abritrary code execution in Super mario world first, in the All-stars +super mario world the Super mario bros.3 just used a specific corrupt item from inventory at the start of world 1 just to go strait to rescue peach. In theory that could be done with the normal Super mario All-stars that does not have Super mario world, but you would need a copy of super mario world do a set up in the All-stars version make sure that one at least is not an empty file then do the abritrary code in Super mario world then by removing the cartridge while it is still on, and placeing Super mario all-stars that does not have super mario world while it is still on, so the same thing can happen then using a specific glitch power-up in the inventory in Super mario bros.3 jump strait to resuce peach, but that one as not been tested with the cartridge swamping way. They will used the emulator first with that feature enable, to prevent damage to a cartridge with just trial an error.
I'm satisfied with the ending, sometimes it's okay for the villain to win.

Would have been cool if Mita's real index code was hidden in the game somewhere for an alternative ending where you can win, perhaps that will be something added in the future.
Don't get me wrong I thought the ending is okay, but really wouldn't mind an alternative one.

The whole experience is extremely railroaded and little to no variation, but hey it's only developed by 2 so it's good enough.
Don't get the hate. Sure might be predictable to see she stayed evil and tricked us but its WAY MORE if we just saved the day and we are so smart and epic and ends like a Disney film.

Having it end in despair is top tier

I'm wondering why kind Mita said that we're not cartridge yet, when the truth is that we were cartridge from the beginning.

Well the answer is a spoiler so I'm going to put it in spoiler tags.

There's a safe in the basement. If you open the safe the first time you go to the basement you find your cartridge and it's at 17% converted. So you aren't one yet, but you're on your way to becoming one. Which she omits.
In this ending the player wasnt really given a choice, we're just following along the only path
