When the 360 version
Has higher FPS than your modern high performance PC. Oof.

There's definitely something weird going on with the engine. It's not just a normal frame. It chugs and when the FPS recovers the game goes into super speed to catch up, anyone else notice that? Performance seems okay for the first 20 minutes before it tanks, memory leak maybe?

I actually documented this in my review here on Steam and in my post. It's actually not the game speeding up but, instead, it's the characters only; zombies, you, other survivors, etc. The game world remains pretty much the same but characters and their actions get a speed boost for some reason. Zombies have been falling through the floor, spawning and phasing through walls, spawning a foot above the ground, climbing up the wall on invisible platforms before falling to the ground, etc. The game's engine has not been performing well.

What did you set the Texture VRAM Allocation to?

I had it at the highest but heard it helps to lower so I set it from 8gb to 6gb, helps for the first 20 min and then something just tanks the performance like it's trying to run it solely off my cpu lol. The brad and carlos food court fight was staying around 15-20, even the cutscene, then I restarted and it was anywhere from 60-140, than before I got back to the security office it tanked down to 20ish again near the front entrance on the second floor, even the pause screen only gets 30.

I have a feeling performance updates will be needed. Shoulda picked it up on ps5

I have like a mid-end PC, the chances of this game running smoothly for me sounds slim based on other people's experiences. I'll be on the 360 version. Love the console anyway

RE engine is infamous for being resource hungry.

Figured it out, at least for me. Shadow quality changing from max to high made it go immediately from 15fps on the rooftop to 140.

Told me what? This is the first time you've commented lol. It didn't fix the stuttering or the random crashes though. Still getting random frame drops/stutters and the crashes are still frequent enough to make me hold off until a patch releases
