Do guns suck in this?
I remember in the original game(s) guns were awful against psychopaths, making certain fights (e.g. where THEY have a machine gun) extremely frustrating. How is it in the remaster?

If you pick up the gun magazine where you first fight Carlito I would argue they made them too good sometimes atleast in the first two days. Some bosses don't really take projectile damage though like Adam The Clown, you have to wait for a specific red balloon to pop. They MOST defiantly made the Uzi suck though.
You can move a little bit while aiming now. Even just a little movement makes a MASSIVE difference. I still find myself running past cops with guns but that may be out of habit.
Guns are good, specifically shotty for crowd control and sniper rifle for psychopath fights, but honestly the GOAT is still Adam's small chainsaws and the 3 book combo for it.

Its nerfed :(
They have the system in later deadrising games where bosses only take so much damage in a short time so you can't literally two hit the first carlito fight in .5 seconds anymore. Just space out your shots by a second and you'll get full damage.

It's nerfed, but holy heck is it still op.

Once you complete Saint, you unlock a book that give infinate durability and ammo. With that in mind I think a shotgun might beat the chainsaws lol

Anymore? I'm pretty sure that's the fight in the original game where I found the submachine gun to be awful against him. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

With the gun magazine, they're excellent.

damage is nerfed but durability has been buffed through the roof.
Triple booking one chainsaw'll last you nearly the whole game with only a quarter of its durability used up.

the survivor in the beginning-when the braindead poodle lady opens the doors- drops a shotgun. grab it and save for later. climb onto carlito's platform and run up to him in boss fight 1 with a quickstep. get the book up there then blast his face off like 5 times. done.

don't forget it has RE2/3/4 Remake style aiming. you can now move and groove at the same time.

the movement while aiming is a crawl. I thought it wasn't in at first.

its plenty easy to get close to carlos for a quick fight end. drink a blended speed booster. get close then aim
