Game super prone to crashing
Was trying to the 7-Day Survivor Achivement and my game randomly crashed when going into the hardware store. I had lost all my progress up until that point, and the auto save had placed me at the start of the final boss fight from my first playthrough. Actually heartbreaking to me as I was just past day 5. I've also had the game crash on very random moments, such as changing clothes and area transitions. Has anybody else had this issue? Its really killed my motivation to try again, especially after all the close calls I had

It's a rather common issue in infinity mode unfortunately. We need a patch badly.

I do have a small guide on how to back up your save files and restore them in case of a crash: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2527390/discussions/0/4847651553831919436/
You lose your save after a crash, so if you wish to backup your save data after suspending here's the directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[USER ID]\2527390\remote

Disable steam cloud to ensure it doesn't interfere. To make a backup suspend infinity mode when you have made good progress, close the game, then go to that directory and backup the entire win64_save folder.

When the game crashes start it up again. Your infinity mode save has been deleted, however before you can restore the backup you need to make another infinity mode save and suspend it. Exit the game, switch backups, start game and you should be able to continue from your backup.

You should only swap out save files while the game is closed. An infinity mode slot must exist already for the backup swap to work, swapping doesn't seem to work consistently if not and the game will think the save is meant to be deleted.

I'm assuming this only works if you had backed up for save file previously? Like, it'd do nothing for me if I tried it now

Yep game crashes randomly and capcom is silent. Perhaps they have gone back to old crapcom.
