they removed the best part of cliffs character. Cliff is only the way he isnt beacuse of PTSD when he just starts screaming about "YOU'RE JUST A MOLE!" or "JUST AN ANIMAL."

it makes no sense unlike the original where he it litterally back in Vietnam fighting for his life in his eyes, where he apologizes afterwards beacuse of it, Cliff was able to by Sympathized with. He didnt want to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Crazy its just the circumstances and the life he had that made him end up like this.

if they remove the vietnam vetran aspect what drives him to do this? his grand daughter died but whats his motive? nobody knows he a vet anymore, he may not even be one anymore, which removes a giant aspect of him.

it ruins the character personally for a censor that didnt need to be made.

his death scene is unchanged, i think. that's the point where he confesses to you that he's a vet with ptsd. and afaik that scene is still unchanged.

just because he doesn't use the phrase "viet cong" explicitly DOESNT mean lines can't be drawn that he's still a war vet from viet nam.


they are still using loopholes to work with what they were told to do while still saying what they need to say. like *any localization*.

Alright let break it down cliff fought in Vietnam the 60's a time period filled with Terror of Communism and overall disliking for Communists and overall making the whole concept deviled in America especially in 1969. Considering how deployments were in vietnam we dont know how long cliff was in the service.


Basically calling all soldiers VC or Communists was already enough to de-humanize them for most soldiers. They are all this "ONE THING."

Not to mention Spies in the VC were not the average day to day spies you think of, most of them were civilians or ♥♥♥♥♥ house workers and so on since their Spy netowrk was female.

So in order for cliff to even have this PTSD he thinks hes killing vietmanize woman he "thinks" are moles.

So the whole mole thing makes Cliff Less sympathetic.

The words Vietcong and Communists in Cliffs eyes are already de-humanized thats what most did, while some tried other things like "Homerhamburger' for Carlos "White Feather" Handcock.

You could be right he could be calling every VC a spy for unknown reasons since their spy network was female based, but hey everyone has their own way of doing it.


I just personally think the Censorship is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid beacuse in the context of Vietnam is makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense, so i have to take it at face value of him calling us an actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animal.
