Frank not looking or sounding like Frank is a deal breaker.
This remaster would've been a dubious proposition regardless, but I cringe whenever I hear Frank speak and it's not TJ. I could reluctantly stomach him looking like a cross between Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, but with that voice? Nah.

I am perfectly fine with the version of the game I already own.

It's almost as if the original voice actor aged 18 years and his voice completely changed over the years and can't replicate what he used to sound like.

DR4 Frank also wasn't voiced by Terence.

For all we know, there could be a multitude of reasons why he wasn't asked to come back.

Just throwing the idea of getting the game away because of not having the original Frank voice back is childish.

It's been nearly 20 years now. It's time to move on. The game looks really fun regardless of the change in VAs.

Now, if you weren't getting it because of the DRM, I understand and don't blame you. But you chose this to be the hill you died on.

He did the voice work for Frank in Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite and that wasn't that long ago.

This is so BS... Your voice stays the same after certain age and they are proffesionals they sure can replecate the same voice. Look at Alison Court she still have the exact same voice but capcom still didn't hire her for RE2 for some stupid reasons...
And tbh Frank's redesign is kinda questionable here, why would they age him like 20 more years? Instead of 36 he looks 55 now, this is remaster after all.

Is amazing how well done everyone else is scarily accurate with how they would look in 2024.

But not frank so much

Extenuating frank's willow's peak is an alright decision even if I think it should be reserved for frank in the later games when he's in his 50s.

The main issue is with his face and hair color. They clearly did not go off of his promo art and went with for some reason how he looked in off the record.

Idk why they based his 36 y/o design off of his 50 y/o look. Mind you old frank from off the record also looks good but this isn't old frank this is younger frank.

Then theres the hair, they went with black instead of brown and more akin to his beta look but I guess the lighting in the engine is messing it up making it look gray as well as Isabella's hair too turning her into a silver fox.

The script matters more than the voice work in my opinion. Frank West can sound like Hank East for all I care, but as long as he is saying things that Frank West would say I don't think it's a big deal. We'll also get voiced dialogue outside of cut-scenes, including hearing Otis' voice for the first time I assume. DR4 Frank would have grown on me if he wasn't written like a family guy character. No hate on Ty Olson though, he did the best he can with the trash bag handed to him.

As for his look - it reminds me of his beta appearence. Maybe they based it off of that, either way it's grown on my especially because the top half of his face is actually animated for once. Gray and receding hair seems fine considering I work around people than who are younger than frank west and already run into that problem ;)

No it's not childish. His performance was absolutely key to how good the game was

You are just used to his voice, get over it. It's not a story driven game and he barely says anything out of cut scenes. You can have an issue with his face though

Not a story driven game? It literally has one of the best zombie stories period

It's straight game play, take the story out and not many will care.

The Last of Us is overrated. Dead Rising has a way more interesting story and setting.
