Last time i check you can't but you can change the buttons to make it like you're playing mouse and keyboard
i.e.
wasd - for movement
e - for interact (opening door, picking up items)
q - switching weapon
numpad 4 - attack

Dang. I prefer navigating the game with my mouse as opposed to the keyboard, so I was hoping I could use instead for combat.

We get requests for this sometimes, might check this out later. I mostly didn't want to make it a twin stick shooter/mouse and keyboard shooter though.

you could lock it to the same directions like a mouse and keyboard set up, the mouse would just be the turning, you wouldnt be aiming with like a chrosshair it could still be the same lock on system for the firearms

Binding of isaac did something similar where you could use the mouse but it was locked in the same 4 directions.

I think the general consensus for the desire of this option is for ease of use. Some keyboards have wonky right-hand side set ups as well, so doing this could solve a lot of those issues

Well, that's the problem with it.

If the game allows mouse aiming, then everyone has to use it because it's way, way, way more powerful. The devs don't want to force everyone to use a mouse, and that's exactly what would happen if they enabled it.

It's unfortunate for us players who like mouse aiming, but players who enjoy controllers and semi-auto-aiming would be angry at the change.

It doesn't really need to have mouse aiming. Just the ability to bind the combat buttons to the mouse buttons and leave the mouse itself for inventory management.

Hmm... I suppose, design-wise, that's prefectly reasonable.

I honestly think the mere concept of twin sticks shooter is ridiculous on computers, period.
Last time I checked, keyboards don't have sticks.

My way of thinking is, you have pretty much no reason to not use the tools at your disposal, and on a computer, everyone has a mouse of some sort. Will it be more powerful than using pure keyboard? Yes. Will it be more ergonomic? Yes, 10 times yes.

It will make the game slightly easier, that's for sure, but that's definitively not a bad thing when the game is already that hard, mainly due to the RNG screwing you up big time anyway. People are asking for an easy mode, that's a dead giveaway.

On a buisness point of view, if people tell you they got the game refunded because they didn't have access to mouse control, you're pretty much losing money for not allowing that. It's extra work, sure, but it's extra work that pay.

I also don't understand the lack of mouse support in game when you can actually use mouse to navigate menus... I mean, why do things halfway? That's just weird.

i really want to be able to use the mouse to fire, that is all, not to move or anything, it is just that i am bad at using 2 hands for keys, and would prefer to use one to move and one to interact with objects. kind of like in terraria but without the ability to aim using the mouse

i want to aim with my keyboard like i do, i just want to bind things to my mouse instead of doing the crab with my keyboard

Please reconsider.
