This is covered under the frequently asked questions.

3. What about online multiplayer/localization/workshop support/other big feature?

All of these have been on the list (now on the board) for a long time. They're big additions, especially online. We'll try for them, and in some cases have already tried but run into problems.

For online multiplayer specifically, the likely case is that we have to do a followup or sequel first, look at what we did to make it work, and then see if we can back-port it to Death Road to Canada. Best case is that we at least have to do a prototype game first. Worst case is that we try and fail, which would make online multiplayer sequel-only (unless you use the Hamachi hack to do online multiplayer right now).

I do agree though i would love to play online

Just download Parsec. It allows you to play online any game that has local coop. Only one person needs to own the game. I don't think you can use it on consoles tough. You may need to figure out how to set up controllers for certain games.

unfortunately, ping is a huge issue with streaming :\ delays, lag when your friend is on the other continent :(

Well, whether the client is built into the game or using a second party software you somehow think that is going to change anything like ping? So your comment makes little sense. The game IS COUCH CoOp, and seeing as it took like 7 years to get another update for a BETTER game experience patch-wise, I am pretty sure it will remain so. Next thing on their list would probably be translations so they can SELL even more copies!
