Item priority
So I gave one of the AI 6 grenades to hold during the siege in case i needed them, and he dropped them all for a piece of wood from a broken table. This is just one example of poor AI item choosing, as they will drop extremely expensive/rare/useful items for worthless ones seemingly because the AI can't use the throwables or they are just really, really stupid.

Please fix them dropping better items for crap they found on the ground.

EDIT: They did it again during the final siege at Canada's border for a femur.
And then a Medival Axe for a Pistol... when it had no ammo, and their fitness+strength FAR exceeded their shooting.
Still managed to win because I had a minigun with a ton of bullets... RNG was kind to me today.

being able to 'lock' a weapon in the ai's inventory so they don't drop it no matter what would be a nice fix I think, probably a lot easier than updating the ai

Yeah

I've noticed this too. AI companions are especially prone to drop heavy weapons like sledgehammers, medieval axes, and scythes in favor of claw hammers, scalpels, baseball bats, umbrellas, and empty airhorns. Very annoying when you leave a map and realize that you've just lost a valuable weapon.

AI will prioritise weapons based on how well they score vs. their character stats.

Calling a little bit of BS on that one... I had someone with 3rd highest ( at least) fitness and maxed strength and they kept dropping fire axes or sledgehammers for far inferior weapons; When I play those weapons do fine with those stats...

Things like that happened too One of my guys died during a 1.5 hour siege and his medieval axe got retrieved by me, only to get dropped by my Gungineer Buddy for a Pistol, while he already have AK-47 and Shotgun.

The ability to just lock an item in their inventory would be ideal; a simple fix, but would allow me to safely stow valuable loot on my allies without being scared the martial artist will use the slug shotgun I found to try and bash a zombie to death and break the gun in half. A lock to prevent them from dropping it, and maybe a second lock to stop the AI from using a certain weapon to prevent the aforementioned gun smashing.

More or Less, maybe a lock AND a disable and enable weapon pick up system.
My martial artist almost died because he grabbed 2 Femurs and 1 Plank o' Wood.

Yeah, true... It makes a martial artist AI worthless because it doesn't consider its unarmed attacks' damage... And I would like to have a martial artist follower, as it is really useful.
