Hamachi Hack, local-co-op help.

So my friend and I have been trying to play this game together, the problem is when we do the hamachi hack not only do we run into issues with player 2(me)'s controller not working, but there is copious amounts of lag, it's barely playable really. We've gotten around the controller issue with having one person on keyboard, other controller but having the delay while playing is pretty bad. I'm in Ohio, she's in New York and our ping to each other is pretty alright. Any ideas or suggestions we can do to make this work? Both our internet connections are pretty good, her's being better then mine. We enjoy playing this game together but just, these issues make things very and I mean very frustrating.. We can play other online co-op games for the most part fine.

So could anyone try to help me troubleshoot this? Cause I really enjoy playing this game with her.

Probably has to do with the fact that the game has zero innate netcode to help reduce lag problems. Unless someone designed a better netplay hack I don't know if there's really anything to do for it.

It's pretty much impossible to reduce lag without being close to each other.
