Silenced Guns would be interesting to have on hand, but here's the thing... what's the point?
I mean sure you can have something like that to kill off Zombies at a distance without attracting around upwards of 5 to possibly over 50 or more Zombies to yourself... but just as easily, I could just bring out a Sturdy Machete (or some other unbreakable weapon variant) and hack away at the Zombie without expending precious ammo.
For me personally, a gun is best used for:
1. When you're cornered and your characters are getting tired from swinging their melee weapons.
2. Seiges if things are starting to take a turn for the worst.
3. The Final Seige and the last run to Canada.
A Silencer for guns sounds practical and could be interesting (maybe make the silencer a seperate item from the gun and in different varieties that can be combined with certain gun types)... but the point still stands considering you'll still be wasting ammo where it could be used for the stuff that I mentioned above... and the last thing you'll want is to be without pistol/shotgun/rifle ammo in the above mentioned situations.
I also very disagree about how this game is stingy on ammo, im always feeling like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rambro or comic-book version of Punisher and very rarely find myself out of ammo. I still wish there was more of a weaponary in this game, like a sawed-offs and less monstrously modified assault rifles.
I could add a silenced pistol as a rare weapon. I have no idea how good that would actually be in practice, but we can see. It'd still make some noise, probably along the lines of a melee weapon.
