Where are the shadows and effects in Angel of Darkness?
Watching the trailer for the remaster of games 4, 5 and 6, I noticed that the Angel of Darkness version has no projected shadow effects, no ambient occlusion, no lighting effects, and the original game was very beautiful for its time, with reflections , shadows and various effect.
The 4 and 5 are excellent, in line with the first 3 remasters, but Angel of Darkness looks worse than the original, apart from Lara's modeling, the environments are pretty bad.

I hope they fix this in the final version.

Yeah, I noticed too. I still have fixes for the original game saved just in case this will turn out to be worse than the definitive edition.

I know, it's 4 months until then. But I'm based on what I saw in the trailer. I hope it gets better.

There is a big chance they listened request of many fans and also followed mod of one of devs and remastered aod in tr5 engine, basically by remaking game and its best portions using its assets but in old engine and with old gameplay which was much better than Aod mess.

If this is a case and they turned demake mod into full remake closer to original games with best parts of aod ported and worst parts removed, like if it was still made by old core design team for ps1, than this is best thing that could and should have been done with AoD.

Original game is a mess that can't be repaired and can only serve as prototype and assets storage and some idea source for classic engine TR game made from ground.

and? I'm based on the announcement trailer, they should already have more advanced material to show, I know it's 4 months, which is very little by the way.

Honestly would be the best option.

Every time there's an incoming disaster of a remaster, you'll see a bunch of people bringing up that "dude it'll still be a few months until it comes out!!!", and then once the game inevitably comes out and still looks just as ♥♥♥♥ as it did in the trailer, you never hear of them again.

Hmmm, most people think Reborninshadows is leading AoD, so we'd just be getting the full definitive edition mod. Maybe some of the restored area's he wanted to do like the Seine area in the Parisian Ghetto and other parts.

I don't think it will be a disaster, as the Remaster of 1, 2 and 3 are very good, but I found AOD strange, especially as it lacks many effects that already existed in the original version, such as real-time shadows, reflections and particles. But I believe they will improve this until launch.

They were showing unfinished beta builds on the official Twitter days before the release of 1-3. Like the infamous Cigarette Bridge.
The devs are wizards so I fully believe they'll add shadows and effects before launch.

Yeah Angel of Darkness needs a lot of work still judging by the trailer. But looking at The Last Revelation and Chronicles, it's possible they're already pretty much complete and most of the remaining work might go into AoD.

"barred from taking the chance" "
It was not my own choice that in the end I wasn't able to join development after all. Things were handled horribly."

Oof, that... sounds bad.
