Does Rust run well on a Mac?
The asnwer? Well, no, not really, but they're making progress.

I played for a bit on a late 2013 IMac. (2.7 GHZ Intel Core i5 Processor, with a memory of 8GB and an Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB for Graphics. MacOS Sierra Version 10.12.6) Which is below the recommended, and closer to the minimum requirements.

I was able to play the game pretty well on the potato graphics setting, at certain points I was able to play on 60 FPS, however, I was faced with constant freezes, FPS drops, incredibly long load times. I think Rust is well on the way, and we might be able to enjoy the game properly on Mac soon, but they still need to do some work.

This is a huge step in the correct direction, because a few months ago, I was not able to hit over 15 fps on the lowest settings with the same Mac.

If you're a mac user, try to share your experience, because I only have access to a 2013 IMac, and i'm sure the Mac laptops and later models run the game differently.

almost 5,000 hours playing rust n a MacBook,... 16GB ram, 500GB ssd,... i7,... play on potato, tweak settings, have done most using trackpad as i travel, but also have used external keyboard and mouse. a lot faster load time than my pc, but its a bit old. dont pvp much which likely would hammer the macbook. fan runs fulltime while i play.

2011 MacBook Pro 2.3Ghz Core i7 8GB ram 500 SSD AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
IT IS IMPORTANT TO MENTION YOUR VRAM AND GPU

20-30 FPS no lag
plays on potatoe all good, load times of course are MASSIVLEY reduced due to any machine using and ssd or flash based HDD ..Why? BC the maps are WRITTEN to the hard drive on login to server ........ slower older rotation hard drives cannot write anywhere near the speed of SSD or flash.

Also have a old MacPro Tower with 32GB RAM 6 core and 1GB GPU 500GB SSD - This play well 30-40FPS no lag
