Thank you for the report - This is unfortunately due to the latest Unity update having specific mac OS issues forcing us to disable certain features which help FPS.
We hope near future Unity updates will resolve this issue.
My specs:
MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
AMD Radeon Pro 5600M 8 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
Welp!
so sad not be able to play this game :\
So i was strugglling with this fps drop for about 1 year. Once i found out that when you fully reinstall the game, first play is without any fps drops at all and more you open and close the game more it becomes laggy (very 15 min fps drop to 3 fps for about 40 seconds), so its something to do with app cache or something and i think they left this problem on purpose, becouse the fix is very easy and simple:
If you know how to reset app via any other mac app i think it will be the same.
My way:
Install cleanmymac app, go to uninstaller page, select app "rust" and select reset.
So after reset some setting (but not all) will go back to default state but you will be able to play without fps drops till you quit the game and lounch it again. reseting app takes 1 second , so now i do that before every game
My specs: Mac pro 2019 2 GHz 16-Core Intel Xeon W, 96 GB 2933 MHz DDR4, 2 x AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16 GB.
Hardware. doesn't matter at all to this case, because everything was the same with my macbook pro 2017 laptop. This is not the perfect solution, but im not a gamer and i dont want to install any bootcamps or get win pc just to be able to play this game, since they selling to the mac platform.
Srry for my poor English.
Awesome... that worked for me as well. :)
Hi! I'm playing Imac 2020 27' i5, AMD Radeon Pro 5300 24gb ram
The problem has not been resolved yet.
I Tried cleanmymac and I didn't found option reset application. I uninstalled all files in folder rust, but it still drops from 70 fps to 4fps every 10 minutes.
Maybe I did something wrong? Did somebody found a solution?
