Graphics settings keep resetting to default when game is relaunched
What the title says. This never used to happen. It's really frustrating having to dial in the correct settings upon each time I boot the game up.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Facepunch definitely changed something that's causing this to happen now, as even hJune has been complaining about it on stream, nearly losing a battle because he wasn't aware that Rust had reset his keybinds.

Facepunch needs to fix this, but for anyone that wants a temporary fix:
  1. Open Rust, set your graphics settings exactly how you want them
  2. Open F1 console
  3. At the lower-right corner of screen, click the green button for "Log Folder". A Windows explorer folder should appear
  4. In that folder, double-click the "cfg" directory
  5. Find "client.cfg" in that folder, right-click it, click "Properties"
  6. A popup window will appear -> tick the "Read-only" box to enable it -> Click "OK"
  7. Your Rust settings now won't be reset when Rust is reopened
  8. Note: If you want to change any of your Rust settings and have those changes stick, you'll have to go back to that folder disable the "Read-only" attribute of "client.cfg"

Obviously players shouldn't have to jump through these hoops, this needs to get fixed by Facepunch. But for anyone that wants a temporary workaround until this gets patched, the above should work.

Thanks so much for the reply. After it happened the second time I made sure to screenshot my settings but this fix is even better :D
You can create your own .cfg files for controls or video settings and use the console: exec filename.cfg. Bind it to a key to switch settings in real-time. For example, I have one cfg for PvP when roaming and another for relaxing and enjoying the view. This way, it will never be overwritten during updates etc
