Rust
Problems with Supply Signal in game.
Me and my friend were playing rust in a battlefield server, where you can use kits to spawn your starter kit in and you never lose items upon death. We found an item in the kit called a "Supply Signal." So, naturally we tried using it to see what it does, and it did nothing. It wouldn't even appear on our screens. We saw other people using them, and they told us they'd throw like a grenade and then an airdrop would come. But it still wouldn't work. It would occasionally freeze our screens to where we'd have to click repeatedly to free ourselves.
My friend noticed that when we tried to use it, it would give this error in the console: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

How do we fix this? We tried verifying the integrity of Rust like everyone said and that didn't work.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently experiencing the very same problem, i found one on a body of a looter (i assume he stole it because he had 7 torches in his inventory) i was siked to use it but as soon as i pressed the button to equip it nothing happened. my friend said that he could see it in my hands but whenever i would press the mouse buttons it would lock up my controls, not freeze the game but freeze my character. i have also tried getting 3 different people to use it as well as waiting for different numbers of players to be on the server.

So BUMP

I was running the game in Dev mode. Running it normally fixed the issue.
