Massive packet loss
I play Rust now for over 1100 hours and never had major problems. But now I am very frustrated!

My computer hardware is good enough to play Rust with max. graphic details and good FPS.
But now it takes quite a long time to boot the game. In the main menue it lags allready!
To open the server menue it takes aprox. 30 sec. to open. Connecting to a server works, but I have FPS about 1/2-3 ! Pings are good. I spoke to a admin of a server who thought I am cheating, because I was leveling in the game!
Sometimes the server disconnects me and I get a "Temporary EAC ban for massive packet loss". I have no idea what I can do!
I reinstalled Rust on my SSD, but it starts slightly faster, nothing more...
My internet connection is cable with 1GB.

Anyone with ideas? Please! Thanks a lot!

Packet loss means data is becoming corrupt when transmitted from one machine to another and unreadable. Is it the same on all servers?, if so...

Packet loss is down to your network, it could be playing on WIFI, many people using your connection, faulty network gear, a fault on the line, or your ISP having issues, the only way you can fix packet loss is speak to your ISP or if they wont help change your ISP.

My guess is your ISP is being cheap with the bandwidth rather than faulty hardware, but you should check all aspects of your network gear before contacting your ISP.

Don't hate the poster, just passing on information.

Thank you for trying to help. Problems with my ISP? Hmmm... Rust is the only game having problems. Wierd... I turned of my firewall, I added port forwarding... Nothing happens. *SOB*

Thanks!

The game is unlikely to be responsible for packet loss, the problem is either with the server you're playing on or playing on wifi, your network hardware or ISP - If it were the game more people would be reporting.

A game can be network intensive and vary from game to game. I'd check cabling, router and if your hardware is not at fault contact your ISP, tell them you're suffering packet loss to a game server and to test your line (You could suggest playing whilst on the phone so they can see what is happening) and they might (if they're decent) allocate you more bandwidth and or priorities your traffic.

Dear Flanker,
thanks for your help. I have read the infomration you handed to me and installed PRTG System, in order to find maybe the error. Only thing I found was a HTTP 8080 - error, socket error #10061. That's all. Other parameter are fine. I will contact my ISP provider, but I don't think that they can help. As I wrote, all other online games work really fine, even Call of duty MW, 7dtd, Generation Zero....

Greetings and stay healthy!

After turning my on-board graphic card of and re-install of Rust, there is something new...
I get following errors on the menue screen:

[EAC] Game Client Violation: Unknown file version (RustClient_Data\resources.assets)

System.Data. DataRowChangeEventHandler:Invoke(Object, DataRowChangeEventArgs)

EasyAntiCheat.Client.Hydra.Runtime:OnIntegrityViolation(ClientIntegrityViolationType,String,String,IntPtr)

Don't know what this could be... I was not hacked, nor am I cheating. Not my interest...

Does anyone have ideas? Flanker? :-(

@Flanker: Got the clue! I have had the wrong start orders. Don't know how they got into the promt. It works now fine. Thanks for the help!
